When I was visiting a friend in KC six years ago I was staying at a Holiday Inn, not far from the ballpark and I was the only person there who wasn’t there to go to the ball game and it was really cool.

Couples, families with kids, everybody wearing jerseys everybody ebullient, “hey we’re going to a ball game!“ It was really great seeing the support the Royals get. All of these were people from out of town who had to drive a ways to get there.

So typically, they shut a guy down and hope, then after 4-6 weeks he starts a rehab, then 2 wks later as the rehab is winding up they announce he's having TJ.  ..........🫤

I’m glad I got a chance to see him pitch. I will never forget his strikeout of Vlad Jr. in the spring game this March. It was electric.

When KC was making their run a few years ago, I really enjoyed the row of blonde Stepford Wives types that were lined up behind home plate. I thought Kansas City must be full of women like that, but when I visited there, that was not the case.

You must be thinking of Minneapolis.

I am having my doubts as to whether Trey Sweeney will be a decent major leaguer. He’s not hitting and he’s not fielding. They only things he has going for him is speed and a little pop, neither of which do you much good if you’re walking toward the dugout after your at bat, as he is doing too often.

Sweeney has to make the play - screened maybe?

Possibly, although that did not look like the kind of hit that would fool a competent big leaguer.

I’m a bit surprised no one has yet mentioned that Dan Dickerson is not on the radio call tonight. He doesn’t have an active X or Bluesky account through which he could have told us why he’s out. Anyone know what’s happening? Is it because of graduations in his family?

Sweeney is still short of 300 MLB PAs. Can certainly still go either way with him.

Understood, but he is a black hole on this team and his card is a sea of blue.
