Another series win. Making it 14 series wins out of their past 18.

You beat me to it because I heard it on the radio just now it’s pretty impressive.

Lee gets the win? I thought it would be Holton.

Don't care. Tigers get the win. That's all that matters.

But is that the official scorer call? Holton pitched thru the 5th with the lead.

I don't really understand how they assign pitcher wins when the starter doesn't go five and his team has and keeps the lead from that point on. It's supposed to be based on some subjective effectiveness evaluation, but really, it's a mystery to me.

there's some discretion if someone pitches exceptionally well or poorly but it's mainly up to the rules.

Lee has been pretty impressive. He may be sticking around this summer.

He seems like an ernest, happy sort of guy and he gets the job done.

The guy has a 0.77 WHIP. I know it's a small sample size but it really is an eye opening stat.

Nine of the AL teams have at least a .500 record, but only eight of the NL teams do.

The Tigers need to go 61-41 to reach 100 wins. I mathed it. 😅

This is a unspectacular win, but winning these kinds of close unspectacular games instead of losing them is the difference between being a playoff team and leaning against the wall at the prom and watching everybody else dance.

Which means playing merely .500 (51-51) the rest of the way would get them to win 90-72. That would have to be their floor I think, barring a major injury to Skubal and/or Greene. Simply win 90 and I’d say they’re 98% a playoff team and 70% they’re a division winner. But my goal is for the Tigers to be one of the top two division winners so they can bypass the wildcard round.

Don’t want them to sit too long because I remember 2006…

Yeah, I need an explanation as to how Lee gets the win over Holton.  I don't really care, I just need to know or I'll be laying in bed tonight still wondering about how the rules work.

I remember hearing it's an official scorer who decides a pitcher was the most effective. The same scorer who watches a player drop a popup and gives a hitter a hit. 😗
