I don't really understand how they assign pitcher wins when the starter doesn't go five and his team has and keeps the lead from that point on. It's supposed to be based on some subjective effectiveness evaluation, but really, it's a mystery to me. Edited June 1 by chasfh Quote

IdahoBert Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Nine of the AL teams have at least a .500 record, but only eight of the NL teams do. Quote

IdahoBert Posted June 1 Posted June 1 This is a unspectacular win, but winning these kinds of close unspectacular games instead of losing them is the difference between being a playoff team and leaning against the wall at the prom and watching everybody else dance. Quote

Simply win 90 and I’d say they’re 98% a playoff team and 70% they’re a division winner. But my goal is for the Tigers to be one of the top two division winners so they can bypass the wildcard round. GalagaGuy Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Yeah, I need an explanation as to how Lee gets the win over Holton. I don't really care, I just need to know or I'll be laying in bed tonight still wondering about how the rules work. Quote

I remember hearing it's an official scorer who decides a pitcher was the most effective. The same scorer who watches a player drop a popup and gives a hitter a hit. 😗 1 Quote
