I read that Boston is looking for a return on Derick White similar to what Brooklyn received for Bridges.  Seems about right to me.  He can be that missing piece for a contender.

Same deal Reid got.  Smith is a bit worse on offense, better on defense, probably.

These deals look huge.  But with the rising cap, that is only 16% of the cap this year.  Max for a guy his age is 25%.

Maybe if they had some extra picks stockpiled.  Fair price, nice player, just too expensive for a team in Detroit's position.

The Shock were very successful in Detroit. I remember when they sold out The Palace. Jared Goff is a minority owner of the new team. Unfortunately, Gores is a majority owner.

Point of reference. The Pistons sold the Shock for $5 Million in 2009. The Dolan Family sold the Liberty for $215 Mil in 2019, claiming they couldn't turn a profit.

Now these franchises are going for $250 Mil.  ????

The WNBA team is going to play at LCA.  Probably better off playing at Wayne State and moving big games to LCA.  By big games, I mean when Caitlin Clark is in town.

how big is wayne state?

the chicago team plays at depaul's arena and it seats about 10k.  they get about 8k per game.

Only about 3,000 so that wouldn't work.  I didn't know they got crowds that large.

my 10 year old got school tickets to a wnba game.  my wife took her - there is no way i'm going to a wnba game - and she said it wasnt that bad.  she doesnt get offended by bad basketball like i do.

but the place was 3/4 full and my wife described the crowd as "what you'd expect for the most part: dykes and tykes."

not that there's anything wrong with that!  when caitlin clark comes to town the place sells out.  fwiw, the players were all very nice to the kids.  good to see.
