Sports_Freak Posted Wednesday at 10:56 PM Posted Wednesday at 10:56 PM I read in this mornings Free Press that the Lions offense was having a hard time practicing because Hutch kept blowing up every play. He's gonna have a monster season. "Still, no one can block him in Allen Park right now. To the point that Dan Campbell had to amend a rule recently. If Hutchinson gets near Jared Goff and it looks like a sack, the play continues." Quote

I was ridiculously excited about TeSlaa on draft day, and I had never heard of him before he was drafted. Googling him and seeing his 40 time and reading that he was pissing off defenders run blocking in practice at the senior bowl sealed the deal for me. He will probably be a nobody at the end of his career, but who knows. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted Thursday at 02:56 PM Posted Thursday at 02:56 PM Campbell doesn’t typically exaggerate. Quote
RedRamage Posted Thursday at 02:59 PM Posted Thursday at 02:59 PM I think how TeSlaaaaaaa does this year will have a huge impact on how the Lions handle Jamo. Just to make it 100% clear: I'm am NOT saying that TeSlaa is as good or as fast as Jamo. What I am saying is that if TeSlaa shows he can project to be a capable #2 then the Lions may not feel the need to resign Jamo, or at least not break the bank to resign him. Considering all the other young players the Lions need to resign, if you have legit depth at receiver getting Jamo resigned drops down in priority. Quote
Hongbit Posted Thursday at 03:06 PM Posted Thursday at 03:06 PM Ideally, they find a way to sign Jamo to a deal they can get out of after 3 years while Teslaa plays on his 3rd round rookie contract. I expect big things on the field from Jamo this season but I’m not as confident that he gets through the year without more outside stuff popping up. Quote

Jamo knows it’s put up or shut up time for that contract and all eyes are on him. Tens of millions of dollars are riding on his staying out of trouble off the field for the next 6-10 months. I think he’ll stay away from the law. Now, after some team gives him a massive contract? I’m not so sure. I think someone might pay him to be their WR1. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted Friday at 05:10 PM Author Posted Friday at 05:10 PM Miami Dolphins (0-0-1) @ Detroit Lions (1-1) vs. Setting: 08/16/2025 1:00pm EST on Lions TV Network Site: Ford Field in Detroit, MI Weather: Climate Controlled Opening Spread: Dolphins -2.5 All-Time Series Record: Dolphins lead, 8-5 Last Meeting: 10/30/2022, Dolphins won 31-27 Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted Friday at 05:32 PM Author Posted Friday at 05:32 PM The "Last Meeting" research was fun with this one. I remember the 10/30/2022 game against the Dolphins pretty well. I attended it and left at halftime to make it to a baby shower (and may have been murdered that day if I left any later, the powers that be were pissed I went to the game in the first place). Lions were up 21-7 in that game - 27-17 at the half - before collapsing and failing to score a point in the second half. After that loss to the Dolphins, we dropped to 1-6 on the season. Some highlights (or lowlights) from that GDT (not quoting because the sources are irrelevant): "It doesn’t matter who they hire or fire. It’s a hopeless joke of a franchise and nothing will change in our lifetime." "Look at that. The Eagles went from Super Bowl Champ, to collapse, to rebuild to Super Bowl favorite and in the same amount of time we have continued to suck." "They might not win 3 games this year. Marty Morningwheg all over again. Lots of tough guy quotes, but a clown show." Along with a lot of people pissed at DeAndre Swift -- at least we weren't all wrong. Although the sources are irrelevant (because it was a universal feeling), credit where it is due to @Motown Bombers who was a clear voice of reason and called for patience, comparing Campbell to Jim Schwartz, who was given plenty of leash. Since that game, the Lions have gone 35-9 in the regular season. History still in the making?? Quote
Motown Bombers Posted Friday at 10:53 PM Posted Friday at 10:53 PM That was a classic thread where I got accused of being Dan Campbell's mom and KL2 was harassing me because I didn't accept Goff was nothing more than a backup QB. The love for the Giants and Daboll was hilarious. Any reasonable person could see that team was flawed. They bought into their flawed 9 win season and have set the franchise back years. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted Friday at 11:03 PM Posted Friday at 11:03 PM If you want another thread where I had to be the voice of reason and was right about everything, check out the Patriots game thread from that year. From the Giants, Falcons, Jets and Jaguars being ahead of the Lions, to Hutchinson being a potential bust, it's gold. My favorite was where I predicted almost every single Lions win that year and was laughed at. Quote

holygoat Posted Saturday at 05:29 PM Posted Saturday at 05:29 PM LOL, Allen throws to TeSlaa after scrambling about three yards beyond the line of scrimmage. Both teams look terrible today. Quote

MichiganCardinal Posted Saturday at 05:46 PM Author Posted Saturday at 05:46 PM Not a lot of NFL talent to be seen on the defense right now. Quote
holygoat Posted Saturday at 06:13 PM Posted Saturday at 06:13 PM Nice 4th down conversion TD pass to Meeks. TeSlaa's route took out two DBs, leaving Meeks with no one on him. Quote
