IdahoBert Posted Saturday at 11:40 PM Posted Saturday at 11:40 PM I never pay attention to the commercials, but the Grammarly commercial where the woman says she’s an adjunct professor and she needs help writing is shocking and dismaying. So nobody - even professors - are not expected to write a cogent sentence? Quote

I've found that some people, no matter how smart otherwise, just don't have the type of brain that's good at language. at my last job, my manager also had a little bit of a farm. once in a while he'd mention something about his geese, and about half the time he'd call them "gooses", not in a joking way. and he's definitely not stupid. I just like it cause even though it's a play on his name it at least isn't completely lazy like using your initials like GT, a shortened version of your name like Tork or the worst the little league nickname of adding a y to the end of it like Greeney. GT is also a variant of fancy sports cars. Quote
IdahoBert Posted Saturday at 11:54 PM Posted Saturday at 11:54 PM I suppose professors in “practical disciplines“ such as business and many other fields may not have the most astute writing ability. But it’s still strikes me as weird. I have a couple friends that are adjunct professors in sociology and philosophy and they’re genuine intellectuals and they would never in a million years let AI “clean up“ their writing. Quote

chasfh Posted Saturday at 11:55 PM Posted Saturday at 11:55 PM And THAT’S why they call him Kerry Bonds! 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted Saturday at 11:55 PM Posted Saturday at 11:55 PM I was complaining about unrelated stuff, but I’m glad Carp hit a homer Quote
Sports_Freak Posted Saturday at 11:56 PM Posted Saturday at 11:56 PM Royce Lewis was the 1-1 pick in 2017. There must not have been too many good players available. I'm sure glad the Tigers didn't have the #1 pick that year. We picked Alex Faedo at #18. Carp Bomb!! Quote
Tigermojo Posted Saturday at 11:57 PM Posted Saturday at 11:57 PM Carp forgot the bullpen until he was already around second so he preceded to point at them about seven times at short, after third and in the dugout. He can't afford the fine. 1 Quote

oblong Posted Sunday at 12:05 AM Posted Sunday at 12:05 AM What’s all that **** flying around? Looks like bubbles. Pollen ? Quote
Sports_Freak Posted Sunday at 12:05 AM Posted Sunday at 12:05 AM 6 runners left on base in 3 innings? Not good.... Quote
IdahoBert Posted Sunday at 12:06 AM Posted Sunday at 12:06 AM Although I have a knee-jerk disrespect for national broadcasters this Fox team is pretty decent. They seem to have done their homework on the Tigers, and they know some of the major things that the rest of us know about club. I guess that’s setting the bar low but they are at least listenable. IdahoBert Posted Sunday at 12:16 AM Posted Sunday at 12:16 AM Colt Keith doubles (18) on a sharp line drive to right fielder Matt Wallner. He’s on base machine. Two walks in addition to this today. Quote
The Ronz Posted Sunday at 12:17 AM Posted Sunday at 12:17 AM What's with the striped bats? McKinstry is using an orange bat with black stripes. I thought that was illegal? Quote
Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted Sunday at 12:18 AM Posted Sunday at 12:18 AM haha, 3.2 IP and already at 90 pitches. Quote
