I never pay attention to the commercials, but the Grammarly commercial where the woman says she’s an adjunct professor and she needs help writing is shocking and dismaying.

So nobody - even professors - are not expected to write a cogent sentence?

I've found that some people, no matter how smart otherwise, just don't have the type of brain that's good at language.

at my last job, my manager also had a little bit of a farm. once in a while he'd mention something about his geese, and about half the time he'd call them "gooses", not in a joking way. and he's definitely not stupid.

Yeah and at least compared to the rest of the Tigers last year he looked like Barry Bonds. I just like it cause even though it's a play on his name it at least isn't completely lazy like using your initials like GT, a shortened version of your name like Tork or the worst the little league nickname of adding a y to the end of it like Greeney.

GT is also a variant of fancy sports cars.

I suppose professors in “practical disciplines“ such as business and many other fields may not have the most astute writing ability. But it’s still strikes me as weird.

I have a couple friends that are adjunct professors in sociology and philosophy and they’re genuine intellectuals and they would never in a million years let AI “clean up“ their writing.

Carp forgot the bullpen until he was already around second so he preceded to point at them about seven times at short, after third and in the dugout. He can't afford the fine.

My intelligence is debatable but I am a terrible writer.

Although I have a knee-jerk disrespect for national broadcasters this Fox team is pretty decent. They seem to have done their homework on the Tigers, and they know some of the major things that the rest of us know about club. I guess that’s setting the bar low but they are at least listenable.
