The pennant-clincher is still one of my all-time favorite Ernie calls. Great visuals too with the players, ump, cops and fans all scrambling. Quote

I remember both being arrested while back in detroit, maybe for an autograph signing? Quote
oblong Posted September 12 Posted September 12 as a kid we went to some Tiger Wives vs Channel 4 softball game. That’s me in the lower left after getting Marty’s autograph. I also had photos or Rupper Jones, Petry, and Lance from a distance. 1 Quote

This article from 2012 and the comments show how he has been a tough autograph, so often on the run. https://www.vintagedetroit.com/former-84-tiger-castillo-faces-more-charges-jail-time/?srsltid=AfmBOor6YRy0YgLmywY-f5qrJ_7hPLGP4bMuZkR_kC2CZr7-icTBEpE3 Quote
Edman85 Posted September 12 Posted September 12 The Tigers very likely clinch before this happens, but they could have a magic number of 3 with Cleveland before the third game of the series and clinch with a win. They would have had to win the first two games of the series and not have clinched already. This is because a sweep in the series next week clinches the tiebreaker. Quote

Feels like the median scenario is having a magic number of 3 heading into the third game after splitting the first two. Quote

In which case a win would not clinch because the season series is up in the air. I agree that is the median scenario. Both Tigers and Guardians win 2 of 3 and split the first two. Quote

I don't think they were ever married but I may be wrong on that. I worked with his "ex-wife" for nearly 30 years. I want to say the daughter's name is Rhonda if I remember correctly. Quote

In 8th grade English, we had an assignment where we had to write a parody of the 23rd Psalm honoring one of our favorite public figures. I chose Ron Leflore who nobody else in the class had heard of. They thought I was talking about Guy Lafleur. Anyway, my teacher liked it and encouraged me to send it to him. I really didn't want to, but my parents also thought it was a good idea. I still didn't want to, but I did anyway. He probably thought it was stupid and didn't respond. He was still my favorite though until Fidrych won me over.
