Darren Mougey Woody Johnson needs to shut his damn mouth. In late October 2022, the Lions were 1-5 and looked dreadful off a 24-6 loss against Dallas, that came after a bye and getting shutout against New England. Campbell was 4-18-1 as head coach. Goff hadn’t thrown a touchdown in nearly a month. Sheila came out and pledged her support behind Brad and Dan. She acknowledged how hard the rebuild was on fans and the team alike, but unabashedly threw her support behind them. Obviously the rest is history in the making. To put it into numbers though, they’ve been 40-12 in the regular season since those comments. Can you imagine if she’d come out and said “well it’s hard to win when you’re not scoring points!” 1 Quote

He’s going to pull everyone under being asked to do something he’s non capable of, namely play QB. Edited October 22 by sagnam 1 Quote

But that’s for the coaches to decide behind closed doors. An owner throwing his player under the bus serves nothing and no one. Quote
Jason_R Posted October 22 Posted October 22 There is a reason Woody’s team is the same old Jets and Sheila’s team is not the same old Lions. 1 Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted October 22 Posted October 22 I see that Brandon Graham is coming out of retirement to play for the Eagles. I kind of wonder if Frank Ragnow might do that - late in the season. Not have to deal with a full season but contribute for the playoffs. They seem to be fine without him, but I would imagine it would not take him long to fit in. Quote

Yes, Woody Johnson - his team picked up a player because of their Madden rating. I wonder why they continue to suck. I think if the Jets had Kirk Cousins they might be 3-4 instead of 0-7. That's how bad Fields is. Fields is a backup QB - at best. He could be a great 1 or 2 week fill in, but that's all he'll ever be. Quote
Jason_R Posted October 22 Posted October 22 If they had kept Aaron Rodgers they’d be at least 3-4. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted October 22 Posted October 22 The Jets would still need a QB and would be stuck in mediocrity. The issue is, we know what Fields is. Two teams couldn’t fix him. He isn’t Goff who played at a high level and was a franchise QB on a Super Bowl team. There was no reason to believe you could fix Fields. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted October 22 Posted October 22 Daniel Jones is the AFC's Jared Goff. Started with great hope, looked pretty good - and then fell out of favor by his original team and was broomed out of town. But here's the thing. Jones, like Goff, is not the guy who carries a team. Not like a Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson. He's a guy, that with pieces around him, can work wonders. Both guys were kind of forgotten but are showing us that Game Manager is the most important aspect of a QB for most teams. Give them the pieces, and they know how to use them. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted October 22 Posted October 22 Jones was never close to Goff on the Rams. He’s more like Darnold or Geno Smith. 1 Quote

I was thinking more on how his team just gave up on him. The Rams give up on Goff. Game Managers. That's how you win. You build up everything else and then get someone who can operate the machine instead of someone who wants to BE the machine. Jonathan Taylor makes Daniel Jones look great, doesn't he? Quote

Sports_Freak Posted October 24 Posted October 24 I hope the Lions don't get too overconfident watching the Vikings tonight. They look very bad. And JJ coming back against us? Well, I guess their offense can't play much worse. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Reasonable to think Kwesi may be on the hot seat. He's one of the worst drafting GMs in the league and it's a wonder how KOC took that team to 14-3 last year. Quote

His poor draft record is going to catch up with him at some point. The Vikings have also been massive overachievers. Quote

I don’t think he’s Patricia, I think he’s overwhelmed as a first-year head coach stuck between a bad owner and a bad roster. I think Campbell’s time as interim HC in Miami is understated as it relates to his success here. 1 Quote
holygoat Posted October 26 Posted October 26 This is how Glenn is, though. He got testy with the Detroit media all the time, even after wins. That's not a problem when you have a personable HC like Campbell in charge, and your team is winning, but it might be when you are in charge and your team is losing. And your team is in NY. Quote
