So it cost him a possible $50 million dollars to falsely accuse a fan of making a racist remark and/or a comment about his mother? Eh. Whether they end 2-4 or 1-5 in the division, you don’t deserve to be in. And they’d get back handed by any of the NFC West opponents they might play.

Agreed. It woulda been nice to put more pressure on Green Bay by beating Pittsburgh but...yeah...whatever. And now the Packers backup QB is injured...

This is a pointless stat, but watching Jalen Carter play and be effective tonight in the Eagles/Bills game it got me thinking. Since 2000 only two RBs drafted in the first round made a Super Bowl with the team that drafted them. Joseph Addai with the Colts and Clyde Edwards-Helaire with the Chiefs. Conversely, 22 DTs drafted in the first round have made a Super Bowl with the team that drafted them.

So there were more DT were drafted in the 1st round than running backs?

Buffalo kicker loses a very exciting game for Buffalo. Make an extra point kick and no need to go for a 2 point conversation on what should have been the winning TD.

Yes. I think we have an idea as to why that is. This isn't me trying to be slick saying they could have taken Carter over Gibbs either. Just an interesting thought about what could have been.

Gibbs is really good and I'm glad we have him but, IMO, running backs are a bit easier to find over a dominant DL. I remember there were questions about Carter's character. And he has showed some immaturity this season. The guy is really good but so is Gibbs.

I am completely surprised by this, but according to Gemini there have been 51 DTs drafted in the first round from 2000-2024 and 51 RBs from 2000-2023.

I believe when we traded down we got not only Gibbs but Campbell & LaPorta also...

Or maybe there was 1 more maneuver to get all 3...? But at least two of them were attributable to the trade down...

And yes, Carter had questions on him that I'm going to guess turned off the Lions brass.

The top of the 2023 draft was amazing. I hope we hear that Branch will be able to come back;
