This is kind of how they looked at the start of last year.    It's a tough deal.  Not playing during the preseason to avoid injuries but then they have no timing at all.

Maybe this is their worst half all year.   Still only a two score game.  Perhaps coach thinks a reset is more important than making risky plays.

All told the Lions have not looked that bad. It’s just the secondary that needs to wake up. Green Bay has 11 yards rushing on the half. The offense has looked mechanical outside the three and out and the turnover.

The sky is not falling.

GB got the ball on the first drive at the 43. Second drive on the 48 (after the phantom false start/re-punt). Third drive, touchback, 35 yard line.
 

Last year, Detroit had just about the best special teams in the league. Did Detroit forget you can take a touchback? Did they forget how to pin a team deep in their zone? 

Hopefully they will not give up so much field position this half. And hopefully they will stop playing on their heels.

Most of their looks have not been with a pass rush in mind. One of the third downs early was bad. They just ran straight at the offensive line. But by and large, three-man fronts are not designed to get home.

I don’t question Campbell much, but I do think these guys could use some snaps preseason. I know he thinks that the joint practices do that job for them, but when you’re playing Miami and Houston, maybe they could use a little more to get ready for game action.
