holygoat Posted September 7 Posted September 7 Gotta get into the paint here. Do that, and you give the defense a chance to wake tf up. Quote
TP_Fan Posted September 7 Posted September 7 And that first down is when it should have been a run. Now you’re in 3rd and long. This coordinator is not good. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted September 7 Posted September 7 I need to see another replay. Of course, we just get commercials. Quote
holygoat Posted September 7 Posted September 7 Well, so much for that. Lions gonna get trucked. Quote
TP_Fan Posted September 7 Posted September 7 The entire play calling sequence out of the 2 min warning is a firable offense. Just complete garbage. They are gonna lose a lot of games this year. Quote

They are gonna lose a lot of games this year. Didn't even last a half before calling for firings. Where are these perfect OCs and DCs you demand we get? This is kind of how they looked at the start of last year. It's a tough deal. Not playing during the preseason to avoid injuries but then they have no timing at all. 1 Quote
TP_Fan Posted September 7 Posted September 7 Not taking a timeout. Playing incredibly scared. Wow. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted September 7 Author Posted September 7 Romo can kiss my ass. If you call a timeout with 56 seconds, you’re asking for the Packers to dial up a deep pass, draw a DPI, and kick a field goal. The clock management was fine. Get to the half down two scores. 1 Quote
TP_Fan Posted September 7 Posted September 7 Would have been nice to have 55 seconds left instead of 22. Every coach looks absolutely lost, including Campbell. Remarkable. Quote
Jason_R Posted September 7 Posted September 7 Yes. Take the ball out of halftime. A good drive makes this a game. Quote
TP_Fan Posted September 7 Posted September 7 What a botch job by Campbell at the end. Just an absolute masterclass of coaching scared. Quote
TP_Fan Posted September 7 Posted September 7 Out coached at every level. Worst of it is they looked afraid of it. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted September 7 Posted September 7 Maybe this is their worst half all year. Still only a two score game. Perhaps coach thinks a reset is more important than making risky plays. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted September 7 Author Posted September 7 All told the Lions have not looked that bad. It’s just the secondary that needs to wake up. Green Bay has 11 yards rushing on the half. The offense has looked mechanical outside the three and out and the turnover. The sky is not falling. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted September 7 Author Posted September 7 We should be a team that doesn’t care about games until January now anyway. 😉 Quote
Jason_R Posted September 7 Posted September 7 GB got the ball on the first drive at the 43. Second drive on the 48 (after the phantom false start/re-punt). Third drive, touchback, 35 yard line. Last year, Detroit had just about the best special teams in the league. Did Detroit forget you can take a touchback? Did they forget how to pin a team deep in their zone? Hopefully they will not give up so much field position this half. And hopefully they will stop playing on their heels. Quote

One of the third downs early was bad. They just ran straight at the offensive line. But by and large, three-man fronts are not designed to get home. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted September 7 Author Posted September 7 I don’t question Campbell much, but I do think these guys could use some snaps preseason. I know he thinks that the joint practices do that job for them, but when you’re playing Miami and Houston, maybe they could use a little more to get ready for game action. Quote
