Zach McKinstry has really stopped being the guy we got used to earlier in the year. His last 30 games have been pretty bad and in his last seven games he’s 0 for 16. I haven’t watched a lot of games closely during the bad stretch so I don’t know if he’s making up for any of this in the field.

It’s a very bad stretch. In the last 7 games, the Tigers have been out scored 17–37. And have a 1-6 record. Maybe they’re due for an upturn. I sure hope so.

I think so too. Most of mlb has been extremely streaky. Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, Cleveland, Seattle, Houston, my underwear

Yeah, I hear you, but I've come to conclusion that the "being hot going into playoffs" thought that's prevalent among folks who talk about it has become kind of a cliche.  I "feel" (not based on any research :)), that this isn't always the case.  It's no different than how, during the season, teams are on a prolonged skid and then it suddenly turns around.  We've seen that a lot this year.

Now, on the other hand, it is hard to feel much positivity when the recent results have been so bleak.

AI summary: you never know.

The 2024 Baltimoe Orioles are a good example of a team backing into the playoffs. They didn't stand a chance ..hanging onto their prospects instead of trading for much needed quality pitchers. It sounds familiar...

Dan was saying on the last broadcast that his swing hasn’t looked the same since he came back after sitting a few games with an injury. Zach seems like the type that would say just tape my leg back on and I’ll be fine, but I wonder if he is hurt more than he is letting on, and AJ has his head in the sand on this on because they really need him right now.

I don’t know how much tension and unfulfillment I can take. The last few days I’ve been watching the Diana Rigg era of the two seasons she was on the Avengers and while that’s tense it’s very fulfilling, which is better than the tigers lately.

This is good to know. Thanks for sharing this.

Keith to IL, diagnosis pending.

I really hope Jung doesn’t press and try to do too much, because as we all know, when you try to do to much, you don’t do much. Hopefully, Sweeny and pick up his game and take the pressure off Jung. But, with a very young team, I’m sure they are all feeling the heat. Hopefully the veterans who have been here before ( Torres, Baez, and Motown) will take this game on their backs.  (Morton)

Although that would have been a great Freudian slip, spell check got me on Motown instead of Morton.

It's baseball. I've seen this before. The Tigers are gonna go on a winning streak and Cleveland is going to lose a few games. We'll all be ashamed of how silly and negative we've been the last week or so.

This game is already over.

Of all the people they could have tried to get, why in the world this older-than-dirt bum?

Because he was pitching well when they got him . So was Verlander. The difference? Verlander has continued to pitch well, Morton has not.
