Since it all turned out well maybe there is a tendency to retcon away how much his value may have been affected. I remember reading up about it because I was interested in the medical end. Cervical disc replacement is incredibly difficult surgery, totally bleeding edge at the time - but has been ratified by successes like Eichel since. Quote
