we all want these guys in the nhl and when they get here we are reminded that they are rookies.  and rookies usually suck.

yeah - that's just the thing - we want the rookie that doesn't suck - because that means he might be the kind of impact player they need so desperately.

TBF - In the Yzerman era we have had a couple of rookies that didn't suck in Sieder, Raymond and maybe even count Edvinsson.

But no, they're not all going to hit the NHL ice on the fly...

They're going to go through learning curves and rough patches and such...

And we're just going to have to live with that until they're up to full speed.

Hopefully most of 'em make it instead of flopping.

But we'll have to wait 'n' see on that end of the rink.

Kasper needs to get rolling though. This is the 4th season after his draft year. You don't expect a #8 overall to make the NHL in the 1st season or even the 2nd season. Should be contributing by year 3 though, which he did with 19 goals and 37 points in 77 games, something to build upon. But by year 4 you should be breaking through, and so far 3G 0A 3pts in 18 games ain't it.

asp and mbn arent exactly ripping it up either.  but unlike kasper, their timelines have been fast tracked.

kasper needs to be back on line one, imo.  he thrived up there.

I'm glad I erased my knee-jerk reactions after last night. Being negative doesn't do any good. Very sweet goal by Raymond. I was shocked to see the shots on goal....over 40 Wing shots....impressive
