I wonder if we are playing too many guys significant minutes.  And Duncan Robinson was not even in the lineup.  I know they want to reward Jenkins and Green for what they did earlier this year.  But at some point, we are going to need to live or die with Ivey.  

Also, Cade's three point shooting this year is becoming something to watch.

Everyone wants to score from three and at the rim in today's game.  Cade shoots below average from both locations.

When you're trying to replace your only pure shooter in the lineup, the answer is Lanier, not Jenkins. It doesn't matter that he's a rookie, he's just a qualified as a 2-way player and they're basically the same age. it's all about the archetype you're looking to replace.

And I like Jenkins, but he's a backup PG. His role is playing the 13 minutes Cade doesn't play. Let him cook against bench players and be a spark for the reserves. Let him grow into your Jose Alvarado..

I didn't think I would dislike LeVert this much. Even when he's playing well, his flailing limbs and head-down dribble make me seriously unhappy. In a game like this, it's infuriating. JB keeps going to him in the clutch and it's a terrible move. 

Two things can be true. We can lack shooting and also need to have Ausar in the lineup as much as possible. This team's best offense is defense and you don't have to fight the zone when you're in transition. Not to mention that a zone sucks for defensive rebounding so Ausar's offensive rebounding is very important. We were a huge net positive in his minutes just as we were in the playoffs last year when JB sat him. Play the man 30+ mpg!

This was my second thought.

My first thought was: "Looks like a Herschel Walker trade... to me."

So... no.

 

But another thought occurred to me during tonight's game... as KP was throwing up 32 points...

Milwaukee will say no to these changes...

But here I go anyways:

Harris, Ivey, Holland, LeVert for 

Giannis & Kevin Porter Jr.

Plus (4) 1sts and the (3) 1st round swaps... plus we have 12-14 2nd rounders over the next 7 years... In the years we lose our 1sts in this trade we keep our highest 2nd rounder, they get all the remaining 2nd rounders.

If they say no, c'est la vie.

If that trade actually gets done (a shock to mine and everyone's system?):

Looking at it from the Piston's Roster:

Cade-KPJ-Ausar-Giannis-Duren start.

I would take that starting 5 over any in the NBA.

Pushed to the bench:

Stew-Duncan-Paul Reed at PF?, maybe KPJ has to run all the bench PG minutes so is a little bit staggered with either Cade or KPJ always on the floor? And somehow, some additional guard minutes needed between Lanier-Jenkins-Sasser-Javonte Green?

Bench might be a bit of work-in-progress but I think we could get it to a serviceable level...

 

But that's the Giannis trade I would sign off on.

Would Milwaukee?

The injury is a concern, free agency probably not.

Some reported Milwaukee is not opening this up to the entire league.  They would work with him to send him where he wants to go.  It wouldn't shock me if there was an extension agreed to before the trade even happens and signed immediately after.

Edit; he had a strained left adductor. Best I can tell, thats in the hip. Injuries like that can lead to further injuries if not allowed to heal. I hate to see star players hurt.

Bucks site says it is only a calf strain. Out a few weeks.

So not serious.

Although with age...

The injuries, even minor ones, start to pop up more frequently...
