The Pistons are a better team when he gives the bench guys meaningful minutes and doesn't run Cade and the starters into the ground. Obviously Cade is going to get big minutes no matter what but the real strength of this team is its depth so when more guys are getting involved the Pistons are more dangerous. Something to monitor going forward because JB tends to become too reliant on the starters at times and there's some games when they get fatigued down the stretch and start clanking shots and turning the ball over.

Regardless, it's a minor gripe. This is a 20-5 team and they're looking strong at the moment.

Getting to the finals would be incredible in just the second year after winning 14 games.

It depends on what "all-in" means though. I don't think the East is so good that they have to go superstar hunting and gut the team to chase Booker or something. A fringe All-Star like Trey Murphy, or someone similar, could really set them up to the be the favorite right now for presumably far less.

The Pistons are in an advantageous position being 20-5, having a strong deep roster, young developing players and some good assets. It's not like they need to get all in now, they have a team that can be good for a long time if they play their cards right. Of course there's something to be said for competitive windows being shorter in the new second apron NBA but there's no real pressure to force a big trade now.

With that said, I do think they will need to make a big trade at some point for that final piece, their Sheed trade so to speak, to put them in title contention but that time isn't yet IMO.

The Pistons are 18th in the league for 3PT% at 35.6%.

Cade shoots 30.7% from three.  Subtract him and his shots, the Pistons shoot 36.6% which would rank them 10th in the league.

They have 3 regular rotation players that currently shoot better than 40% from three with volume.  5 rotation players over 38%.  I'm always for adding more shooting, and they should if the opportunity presents itself.  But I don't see it as an absolute need they have to address.  Cade needs to shoot better, but there isn't a trade to directly fix that.

Cunningham was at 35.5% the last two seasons.  He started out slow, picked it up in November, but has slumped the last five games.  I don’t know what to make of it other than every athlete has their ups and downs throughout a season.

Even those two years are below league average.

I'd like to see Cade shot % broken down by quarters. Just an impression but it seems like he comes out cold a lot of nights and picks it up later.

FG%/3P%

1 - 43.2/33.3

2 - 40/24.4

3 - 43.1/26.7

4 - 52.2/39.9

OT - 25/no attempts
