They still pick 5 starters and 7 reserves from each conference.  But that will make  up 3 teams of 8.    One international team and two teams from the US.  If that doesn't give you 8 international and 16 US players, Silver will name some players to fill the minimum requirement.

So based on that, the starting 5 for the international team will be Luka, Giannis, Jokic, SGA, and Victor.

It should be Barnes instead of Ingram IMO.  19/8/5 and should make all defense.  That is much better than BI.

So what’s the point of voting east vs west?  Just pick the best 16 domestic and 8 international.

i just dont think the lakers are all that good without reeves.  the whole team is a bunch of nothing and three one on one creators.  luka is still one of the best shot makers in the league.  reeves is really developing.  lebron is obviously not the player he once was, but he's still a very good point guard and can get to the line easily.

but they have zero bench (marcus smart?) and little ammunition to get better now that nico has been fired.

pistons bench ran them out of the gym.

Points in the paint are huge for a team. They're usually higher percentage. The Pistons are near the top of the league in points in the paint. Really impressive. And also, the last game on a long west ciast road trip makes this win even more sweet. Again, impressive

Points in the paint is just an awful stat and often misleading.  The Pistons do rank #1 in that category, but 2nd, 3rd, and 4th are New Orleans, Miami, and Chicago.

A lot depends on how you get the points in the paint.  Detroit is what I call a volume team.  They take the 2nd most FGA's inside 10 feet.  But they shoot a horrible percentage when doing so.  Their FG% inside 10 feet is 57.5% which ranks them 22nd in the league.  So they get their points by taking more shots than most teams, not shooting a better percent.  Good they get a lot of attempts, bad they don't do much with those attempts.

Jeff Teague was on his podcast today and said he would take Cade over Luka.  He said Cade actually plays defense and Luka doesn't even try on defense.

Probably a bit premature for that.  We have seen Luka put a franchise on his back and take him to the finals.  Cade hasn't done that just yet.  But I get what Teague was saying.

i think cade is playing better than luka right now, but right now is the regular season.  let's see how cade does when all defensive effort - and they get actual defensive effort from good teams - is directed at him.  i did see the lakers throw a lot of double teams at him last night, get ready for a steady dose of that come playoff time.
