lordstanley Posted yesterday at 02:35 AM Author Posted yesterday at 02:35 AM Wings waking up. 2-1 with 2:15 to go. Too little too late? Quote
lordstanley Posted yesterday at 02:40 AM Author Posted yesterday at 02:40 AM ENG should ice it for LA. wings had a full minute of chances before that. Quote
lordstanley Posted yesterday at 02:45 AM Author Posted yesterday at 02:45 AM Wings lose. Habs, Sabres and Bruins all win so all are now just 4 points behind the Wings. Panthers lose in regulation so the Wings still have a 10-pt playoff lead. Leafs lose 7-4 to Buffalo to wrap up a 0-4-1 homestand which included four 3-goal losses. Quote
buddha Posted yesterday at 02:48 AM Posted yesterday at 02:48 AM bad loss. hopefully missing edvinsson doesnt do them in for this tough stretch before the break. Quote

Shinzaki Posted yesterday at 02:33 PM Posted yesterday at 02:33 PM Chiarot signs a three year extension for $3.85 million per. Good signing Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted yesterday at 02:51 PM Posted yesterday at 02:51 PM 3 years? So He'll be 38 at the end of this deal. That part I don't like at all. He's having a good season so far and I guess that's what he's being rewarded for. But it isn't like he has lit the world on fire since he's been here. I don't love this deal and would not have done it for a little over half a season of good play. Quote
Shinzaki Posted yesterday at 03:00 PM Posted yesterday at 03:00 PM Before this they had 3 defensemen under contract for next year (Mo., AlJo and ASP). It was smart to extend Chiarot... 1 Quote

Otherwise, we'll be paying someone nearly $4 million to sit on the bench or play in Grand Rapids. Quote
buddha Posted yesterday at 03:40 PM Posted yesterday at 03:40 PM the years are long, but the number is good in an expanding cap for a guy like chiarot. the wings - and the league - value physical defenseman more than the analytics crowd does. chiarot on your third pair next year is not bad. in 3 years i suspect he'll be in grand rapids a lot. at least i hope so. A good number of Dmen who learn to pace them selves play OK to their late 30s, and even if the third year is a bust, it will be less than 3% of the cap. In general I do worry about Yzerman not leaving himself enough room to make a big signing when a Hughes or McDavid hits the market, but not enough to worry about this deal. Quote

He'll be the 3rd pair LHD with ASP next year. The stay-at-home defense-1st guy matched with the offense-only explosive RHD... So... We'll see how that works the next 3 seasons after this... Chiarot has value for the Wings. I think they appropriately extended him (term and AAV). Just my 2 cents. Quote
slothfacekilla Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago It isn't like Chiarot's game is predicated on his speed or something, I don't mind him on the third pairing (hopefully) late in his career. The next free agent class isn't that impressive imo Quote

slothfacekilla Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago It is funny to see how much analytics people hate the contract Quote
sagnam Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago No offense intended @1984Echoes. Just joking around. Quote
