Deleterious Posted Saturday at 07:36 PM Posted Saturday at 07:36 PM Stew and Cade missed shoot around today. Quote
papalawrence Posted Saturday at 09:28 PM Posted Saturday at 09:28 PM If Stew, Cade, JD and Harris are all out, they'll need another miracle game from Daniss, Reed and others. That said, extended rest and mending may be a higher benefit for Cade and Stew. Quote
Deleterious Posted Saturday at 10:59 PM Posted Saturday at 10:59 PM LAC has Leonard listed as questionable with an ankle issue. He played against Brooklyn last night. I don't think he plays in B2B games, so expect him to be out. Quote

Adullin Posted Sunday at 03:04 AM Posted Sunday at 03:04 AM getting mugged NBA star power is from the refs Quote
Adullin Posted Sunday at 03:09 AM Posted Sunday at 03:09 AM what a joke the NBA is the refs just flat out took the ball out of Detroits hands. Quote
papalawrence Posted Sunday at 03:23 AM Posted Sunday at 03:23 AM Tough game. Played tough. Missed a ton of open 3s, yet still in it to the end. Daniss has played himself into a nice likely career imho. Quote

It almost seems like after a team loses it's chance to challenge, all the close calls go against them. They can't do a thing about it. Quote

Deleterious Posted Sunday at 04:36 AM Posted Sunday at 04:36 AM After two straight nights of football, I figured it was prudent to take the girl out so I missed this one. They were up 14 in the 4th and lost? I don't care who is out, you have to win when up 14 in the 4th. Box score tells me Ivey wasn't good. 33% from the field with 0 assists? They might seriously consider pulling his QO at this point. Quote

Yes they lost in the 4th. They hustled and played way above their talent with grit. No shame is losing today imho Edited Sunday at 07:12 AM by papalawrence Quote

Those guys are what they are. For me, last night was about Ivey. Ivey was so terrible he couldn't even get on the court in the final minutes of a close game. Multiple starters out. Jenkins and Green on three consecutive possessions under 2 mins went TO-TO-TO. Three possessions, they couldn't even get a shot, and Ivey can't get on the floor? And that is on Ivey, not JB. He shot 4-12 0-5 with 0 assists, JB not playing him was the right move. After Cade and maybe Stew, it's irrelevant who is on this roster. You can slide any replacement level type player in and get the same results we get now. That is a big problem come playoff time when Cade has to play 4 perfect games every series. Quote

But I’ve got to think he should be past that by now. Last night was an opportunity to shoulder a significant part of the load and it didn’t happen. At the very least he should be looked to as a significant piece of the offense when Cunningham is on the bench in a game he plays, but that just hasn’t materialized yet this season. Someone else said he doesn’t seem to have the same speed or quickness as he had before. I think he does, but it certainly seems like it isn’t used as often as in the past or maybe as often as it could be used. Maybe he’s lost that physically or maybe he he’s not back physically/mentally? I don’t know. Quote

His shooting has fallen off the last week or two and is now at 33% from three. Can't get to the rim, doesn't play defense, doesn't create for others. He might get benched once the trade deadline passes. 1 Quote
Betrayer Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago This was probably the most fun game of the season for me until right after that Holland windmill dunk when it changed. The defense was out of this world. It reminded me of '04. At the start of the 4th they said that this was the most steals and blocks in a Pistons game since the 80s or something crazy like that. Then the turnovers killed them. 12 turnovers in the 4th isn't going to work when your only path to victory was taking away the opponent's possessions with defense. That's a 24 possession swing (12 shots you didn't get and 12 more they did). I will also say that JBs lineups didn't help. In a game where they're zoning us (again) and our only 3 pt shooter couldn't get open for a shot in the second half you need to get Lanier on the court. JB just praised him after he played great the other day and he gets zero burn in a game where you're shorthanded, playing dudes at the end of the bench, and need 3 point shooting? I don't get. What was Carelesss LaVert doing to earn his minutes? Ivey? Beyond that, after making a long overdue adjustment to flash Cade into the mid-range hole in the zone when faced with this type of defense, we were right back to square one in this game. How can we not have a plan for attacking the zone yet? It's not like we aren't seeing it time and again. I know Cade isn't there, but are you telling me not a single other player is capable of making the 16 foot jump shot or making the pass to a cutter when the defender lifts to stop the jump shot? It's ludicrous. Threes aren't the only way to beat a zone. But even if you think it's 3s or nothing, then get Lanier in there! Quote
