Deleterious Posted February 14 Author Posted February 14 So the three point contest was won by a guy who won't play a single minute this year. His final opponent was a guy shooting 31% from three this season. Quote

The team (insert name: ) is terrible, gets rid of all its unproductive vets in order to enact a rebuild, gets the worst record in 2026-27... and gets pick #14? That's TERRIBLE! I would never vote for that (if I had a vote). That's just truly ****ting on the teams who are genuinely trying to rebuild. No thank you. Zero interest in that scenario. Here's an idea: don't suck. and they are just as likely to get the 1st pick as the 14th pick. I would be all for it. Don't reward incompetence, and don't rely on the draft to bail you out of being awful at your job. Quote
Deleterious Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 The flat lottery does zero to discourage tanking. It simply moves it from the bottom of the standings to the middle. Teams that finish 15th-22nd will tank to miss the playoffs and get an equally rated shot at the #1 pick, or moving up into the top 3-5. I think this idea would actually encourage more teams to tank. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted February 15 Posted February 15 (edited) to me, the objective evidence is that tanking has only gotten worse with the lottery because you are increasing the number of teams willing to take a gamble on the #1. With a straight inverse order draft, you only had one or maybe two teams that vied for absolute worst, and since the difference in the value of a pick drops off pretty fast once you get past the 2nd or 3rd pick, I just don't see that many teams other than the very worst teams trying to move down. I think the evidence is the lottery has encouraged non-playoff teams to try to get worse because they might have a shot at a #1. Leave them facing the difference between a #5 and #8 and I think they keep playing, because before the lottery that is pretty much what happened. I would go back to no lottery, simple inverse order, and maybe a limit that you can't pick in the top three more than 2 years out of 5 or something similar. A league can tolerate one team being a joke each season. Edited February 15 by gehringer_2 1 Quote

buddha Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I didnt see a whole lot of the game, but what i did see appeared more competitive. they even tried a bit on defense. a bit. but "a bit" is a big step up from previous years. Quote
Deleterious Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 I guess someone is leaking KD's DM's and group chats from his burner. No clue how it was verified, but everyone seems to agree this is him. Some highlights 1 Quote
Betrayer Posted February 16 Posted February 16 All-Star games were pretty fun. Maybe I just feel that way because the Pistons won, but it definitely felt more competitive and exciting. A lot less highlight plays and a lot more actual basketball, which is a positive change. Quote
Deleterious Posted February 18 Author Posted February 18 Someone organized all the KD messages. Calling Russ a triple double cocaine bear is hilarious https://www.kdfiles.com/ 1 Quote
