The Wings are now out of the Atlantic top 3 and are in the 1st wildcard spot. First objective is to make the playoffs but I really want a division 2-3 finish as I'd be confident going into a series vs Montreal, Buffalo or Boston. Less so from the wildcard spot against Tampa or Carolina.

The knives are out for Matthews and Tkachuk. All I’m saying is that if Toronto or Ottawa run them out of town I would welcome them in Detroit and watch with glee as Hockeytown USA continues to dominate little bro.

Exactly (agree with everything except the little bro swipe, lol). The Damien Cox column in the Toronto Star about Matthews was one of the lamest things I’ve ever read. Look, the loss stung, and in a bout of self-flagellation I’ve watched a lot of the partying and the WH stuff, more as a fuel to get pumped for the 2030 rematch. Losing big games is supposed to suck, that’s what makes winning big games so fun. The over the top reactions by some of my countrymen, especially in the media, has been downright embarrassing.

Talk about a play were it looked like there was nothing there. Face off was not a clean win, Raymond wasn't really open for the pass, then Lucas with a pass into empty space with his best guess to where Larkin could get and finally Larks having to execute with hardly a millisecond to spare before he was going to be in too far.

My wife was on the phone with her sister in Dallas when that sequence went down.  I kept rewinding it over and over. and then my wife had to tell sister what's going on.

I missed wings hockey.

If the season were to end today, only three of last year’s playoff teams would be back in: Tampa, Carolina and Montreal. All of Detroit, Buffalo, Boston, Pittsburgh and NY Islanders missed last year.
