Wait, so the Knicks are the second best team in the East?    That's cute.

So

121 -90

118 - 80

one more on February 19th.

Wow.

And Duren didn't play.

Boston is slightly better than NY after tonight's games. Boston and NY are both 8-2 in their last 10. And it must frustrate them that they've only gained 1 game on the Pistons. 😆

Where are all the people on here who didn’t think Daniss could hold down the backup PG minutes? 😁

They don’t need a score first point guard as the backup.  They need somebody that can run the offense and help get open shots for others when Cade is out.   Also play semi decent defense and close out the 3 point line.

I dunno.  When the second unit is Ron, Stew, and Green it can become pretty offensively challenged.  It's nice to have a guy that can score on that unit.

As Del said, they actually do need someone who can attack and get his own shot in that bench unit. He's also shooting 39% from 3 on the season, which this team sorely needs.

As far as running the offense, he's actually pretty solid at that and makes some great passes when the defense collapses. He's had games of 12 and 15 assists this year when Cade has been out, and he doesn't turn the ball over much.

Defense is fine for his size. He's aggressive and goes for homerun plays , but that's most of this team, especially the bench with Ron and Javonte in there. That's their identity.

He's not going to be a 6th man candidate or anything, but he's a solid enough backup to play 15 mpg behind your star player.

Maybe I have recency bias as he’s struggled leading the team when he’s been in and his shot has looked Hollandish over the last few weeks.   I don’t trust him and his lack of experience if we get into a situation where it matters and Cade is in foul trouble.  I would’ve liked a little upgrade at the deadline as insurance for the playoffs.

I also have to admit that Daniss takes a bit of the brunt of my hate for Rick Pitino.

Regular season records are pretty useless.  Pistons were 3-1 against NY last year.

It seems like the Pistons have caught quite a number of opponents at the right time.  It seems like they’ve missed playing against some of the better players in the league either by injury or rest or whatever.  I could be wrong about that and someone smarter than myself will provide a link to a metric that shows I’m a fool, but it seems like they’ve had some good fortune in that regard.

Edit to add:  And if I’m right, nothing against the Pistons for taking advantage of short handed teams.  Kudos to them.  But it does give some credence to the regular season record not being an end all be all.

I think it happens to all teams in the league.  Every night I turn games on, and it seems like between 10 starters that 2 or 3 of them are out hurt.  It's a lot more noticeable in basketball with the small rosters.

Not me, I've always been a fan of his. Hopefully we see news of his new contract this weekend and hope it's for multiple years.

Well, they outplayed them most of that series but the Pistons folded down the stretch a few of those games that changed the outcome. The Pistons match up well with them. Conversely, I don't think they match up well with Cleveland because Cleveland packs the paint which takes away their biggest strength so I'm hoping that the Cavs jump into that 2/3 spot.
