its funny because its osu, but it goes on everywhere.  the idea that most bball or football players go to michigan for the academics is silly.

osu has so many university wide scandals right now theyre beginning to rival michigan!

TBF, schools do make a huge effort in recent years to help athletes go to school if they want to, I'm sure that is as true at OSU as at UM. But while you can lead a horse to water....

Even if he can get eligible, does Texas Tech really plan on letting him play and paying him $5M to do so.   This sport is slimy but this would be a new low.  Fortunately, I don’t think there’s any way the NCAA lets him play.

Crazy that Texas Tech still plans on paying this guy $5M for next year.

The injunction says he has to be made eligible but it doesn’t force the school to play him in games.  That’s a coaching decision.

The NCAA needs to pass a bylaw that any team that knowingly played with an ineligible player is out of the playoff for 3 years and loses substantial NIL money.  Nobody would take that risk.

This whole Sorsby thing is ridiculous and you know that others banned in other sports are  going to cite this decision.  People like Emmanual "No" Clase.

This whole gambling thing is so out of hand.  It's ruined sports and now it's getting into everything.   My station runs ads CONSTANTLY for Bet265 and Polymarket,  which isn't "Gambling", it's just the "futures market".     People who just play around with these things a little bit get sucked in and it ruins their lives.

Hey, you can bet on the Oscars, right?      Well, somebody has to print those envelopes with the winners' names, so somebody already knows.   You don't think someone at the accounting firm that counts the Oscar votes or the printing company that prints the envelopes won't possibly call a third cousin somewhere and give them the info.  NO WAY!

I have always wondered why we couldn't bet on sports and we could play the stock market and I thought it was cool that they finally allowed it - and I actually made decent money on hockey bets, $10 at a time until they stopped with the 5.5 over/unders.  Once they upped it to 6.5, I opted out and only rarely bet small amounts now, but maybe 3 or 4 times a year.     But it's just everywhere now and it's quite an experience to watch someone at a Buffalo Wild Wings have a total meltdown because he just lost 2K on a Bills-Saints game because Buffalo didn't run up the score and cover the spread.   Someone who probably doesn't have a ton of money to start.  "Sorry, Hun,  We're being Foreclosed.   WHAT?  FORECLOSED?  Yeah, the Bills decided to run out the clock.        Someone with nothing left to lose is going to target a coach or athlete.   Someone already fired a shot at Andy Reid in his office.  Gee, I wonder why.

By the way, if your car breaksdown on Rotunda or the Southfield Service Drive by the Lions practice facility, the Lions security folks will be paying you a visit within 5 minutes and will stay with you until your car is fixed or towed.  You won't be able to take a step towards that building.

I dare you to try and fly a drone over that practice field.

Just announce he isn't allowed to practice or be in the stadium on game days.  Keep him on scholarship.  Not much he can do after that.

They would still have to pay him the $5M

probably depends on the contract terms.  there might be something in there that could void the deal, or be contingent on him being able to play.

The school isn't on the hook for a penny of that $5 million.  That deal is between Campbell and Sorsby.

I understand he has a lot of influence over the program.  But the school might not have a choice if nobody will schedule any of the TT teams.

It doesn’t matter who’s paying it out, it’s still 5M of wasted NIL money that could’ve been spent on other players.

TT (and their benefactor) need to cut bait on this guy as soon as possible.

I still think the best course of action is to just play the season and let TT find out Sorsby isn't that good.

Not sure anything can be done about already scheduled games.  Maybe the contracts for the game has a buyout.  But you can't sue Michigan State and force them to schedule TT in the future.

All the kids decided they don't want to play with the cheater whose mom is a lawyer, so now the cheater's mom is going to sue all the kids.
