If they are able to come back two weeks from today, they will miss six of seventeen remaining games.

Or failing that, I was at the gym this morning with one week to get into game shape in case Todd calls on me when I’m at Habs @ Wings next Thursday.

Wings at Tampa scoreless after one. That's probably as good as we can expect from an undermanned Wings team. Penalties with 12 seconds to go in a period are usually needless though. Can the Wings stall for another 40 minutes?

Wings trail 1-0 after 2, Columbus leads Florida 1-0 after 2. If those scores don’t change, the Wings will fall to 9th place in the East in points percentage, out of playoff position

2-0 Tampa Bay. The collapse continues onward.

3-1 Wings are going to lose. Jackets have a point and are playing for a 2nd in OT vs Florida.

Florida wins in OT. Jackets 2 back of Detroit but with a game in hand.

Wings are 5-7-3 for just 13 points in past 15 games.

I am guessing this has to do more with other things going on in life, but man this turn of events for the Wings has just been a punch in the gut for me.  Going from Larkin only missing a game or two hopefully and acquiring Faulk to having no centers and looking at no playoffs yet again....depressing.

I was saying to a couple of family members yesterday that much as I was excited about the Olympics tournament and was disappointed when Team Canada lost, I'm realizing again how much more invested I am in the Wings. The Olympics was a 12-day tourney, win or lose we move on to the NHL. We've had 5+ months put in to the Wings as fans this season alone. I'm going to Anaheim at Montreal on Sunday night and was expecting that the Wings would be ahead of the Habs and I would just sit back and enjoy the game and watch the chasing Habs try to catch up to Detroit. Now it's more like the Habs have left the Wings in the dust.

As the past 3 years.

From Trade Deadline (or thereabouts) to the end of the season...

Wilted Wings Washout.

Disheartening.

The Wings were fun to watch until mid-February...

Still catching a game here and there but...

They don't look good.

And since then: I'd rather spend my time watching the Pistons at this point...

9 years will cause the Wings to lose a lot of fans. An entire generation of kids never even saw them in the playoffs, let alone challenge for The Cup.

They'll get those fans back if they keep winning games. I'm sure their attendance has been way up there this season.

But it gets tiresome watching their games/ standing that they blow each and every single March.

It's just...

Too...

Tiresome.
