lordstanley Posted Thursday at 04:19 PM Author Posted Thursday at 04:19 PM Now really questionable the Wings will be able to survive this. Quote
slothfacekilla Posted Thursday at 05:53 PM Posted Thursday at 05:53 PM It would be awesome to see Seider and Raymond step up here Quote

Jason_R Posted Thursday at 06:35 PM Posted Thursday at 06:35 PM If they are able to come back two weeks from today, they will miss six of seventeen remaining games. Quote

lordstanley Posted Friday at 12:00 AM Author Posted Friday at 12:00 AM Wings at Tampa scoreless after one. That's probably as good as we can expect from an undermanned Wings team. Penalties with 12 seconds to go in a period are usually needless though. Can the Wings stall for another 40 minutes? Quote
lordstanley Posted Friday at 12:49 AM Author Posted Friday at 12:49 AM Wings trail 1-0 after 2, Columbus leads Florida 1-0 after 2. If those scores don’t change, the Wings will fall to 9th place in the East in points percentage, out of playoff position Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted Friday at 01:09 AM Posted Friday at 01:09 AM 2-0 Tampa Bay. The collapse continues onward. Quote
lordstanley Posted Friday at 01:30 AM Author Posted Friday at 01:30 AM 3-1 Wings are going to lose. Jackets have a point and are playing for a 2nd in OT vs Florida. Quote
lordstanley Posted Friday at 01:32 AM Author Posted Friday at 01:32 AM Florida wins in OT. Jackets 2 back of Detroit but with a game in hand. Quote
lordstanley Posted Friday at 01:39 AM Author Posted Friday at 01:39 AM Wings are 5-7-3 for just 13 points in past 15 games. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted Friday at 12:24 PM Posted Friday at 12:24 PM Hey, the new Red Wings mascot, Mr. Softee Quote
slothfacekilla Posted Friday at 05:28 PM Posted Friday at 05:28 PM I am guessing this has to do more with other things going on in life, but man this turn of events for the Wings has just been a punch in the gut for me. Going from Larkin only missing a game or two hopefully and acquiring Faulk to having no centers and looking at no playoffs yet again....depressing. 1 Quote

I was saying to a couple of family members yesterday that much as I was excited about the Olympics tournament and was disappointed when Team Canada lost, I'm realizing again how much more invested I am in the Wings. The Olympics was a 12-day tourney, win or lose we move on to the NHL. We've had 5+ months put in to the Wings as fans this season alone. I'm going to Anaheim at Montreal on Sunday night and was expecting that the Wings would be ahead of the Habs and I would just sit back and enjoy the game and watch the chasing Habs try to catch up to Detroit. Now it's more like the Habs have left the Wings in the dust. Quote
1984Echoes Posted Friday at 06:47 PM Posted Friday at 06:47 PM Same this year... As the past 3 years. From Trade Deadline (or thereabouts) to the end of the season... Wilted Wings Washout. Quote
1984Echoes Posted Friday at 06:50 PM Posted Friday at 06:50 PM Disheartening. The Wings were fun to watch until mid-February... Still catching a game here and there but... They don't look good. And since then: I'd rather spend my time watching the Pistons at this point... 1 Quote

An entire generation of kids never even saw them in the playoffs, let alone challenge for The Cup. Quote
1984Echoes Posted yesterday at 12:58 AM Posted yesterday at 12:58 AM They'll get those fans back if they keep winning games. I'm sure their attendance has been way up there this season. But it gets tiresome watching their games/ standing that they blow each and every single March. It's just... Too... Tiresome. (and boring too). Quote

There's an entire generation of fans they may not get back. If a kid started watching hockey when he/she was 9 years old, they're 18 years old now and never saw the Wings in the playoffs. But, if they ever compete for a Stanley Cup again, they'll get a whole bunch of bandwagon fans. It's the nature of the beast... Quote

Yep, on this side of the border for Windsor, Chatham and Sarnia I bet there has been a shift with the Wings being bad, the Leafs being regular season good, all Leafs games being on tv and no Wings games being on channel 50 anymore. I saw many, many people never care about or follow the Lions for years because they were so bad all of their life. The fans who remember the Cup years will still always love the Wings. But with SO many options for entertainment, as well as a much easier ability to follow any sports team, it only makes sense if some of the younger generation...just doesn't care. I'll always be a diehard Wings fan, just like I've been with the Lions, Tigers and Pistons. But thats because for the first 50 years of my life it was the only way to follow pro sports teams, my local teams. And to be honest, people who followed other teams always.....ticked me off. 😅 Quote
slothfacekilla Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Yzerman is going to have to play center at this rate. I can’t imagine what they’re going to do. Finnie to center? Quote
