lordstanley Posted March 15 Author Posted March 15 I’m in a Montreal sports bar watching the Sharks and Habs. The Habs and Wings seem to be on different trajectories. Quote
lordstanley Posted March 15 Author Posted March 15 A team should be able to sustain a couple of injuries without sinking into bottom 7 team. 2-0 Dallas early in the 3rd. Quote
lordstanley Posted March 15 Author Posted March 15 Edvinsson makes it 2-1. Still 12 minutes to go. No time like the present to prove all of us wrong. Quote
lordstanley Posted March 15 Author Posted March 15 Raymond ties it late. Really, really need a point or more here Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Showed some balls tonight. Showed some fight. Getting a point out of this is good, but let's get two ! Quote
Jason_R Posted March 15 Posted March 15 They hung in there. Didn’t deserve to win but came away with a point. Quote
GalagaGuy Posted March 15 Posted March 15 A point is more than I expected from tonight so I'll take it. Quote
lordstanley Posted March 15 Author Posted March 15 On a point percentage basis, the Wings are 9th in the East and out of playoff position. On a points basis, 1 point up on Columbus with Columbus having a game in hand. The Wings are finished the toughest part of the schedule, having played 9 of the past 11 on the road. 9 of their remaining 15 games (including 5 of the next 7) are at home. Quote

slothfacekilla Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I'm shocked they got a point off the Stars on the road with that lineup, but it is great to see them battle back a bit with Raymond and Edvinsson scoring too. From what I saw, Perron looked pretty old but it sure was nice having his style of play/attitude back Quote
buddha Posted March 15 Posted March 15 honestly, if they make the playoffs this year with larkin and copp again missing significant time late in the year, it will be a miracle. Quote
lordstanley Posted March 15 Author Posted March 15 Am at Le Centre Bell for Habs-Ducks. If I spot any exploitable vulnerabilities in the Habs I will try to let the Wings’ brass know before Thursday. 3 Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Calgary is not good and they're not playing for anything except to be a spoiler. If the Wings don't win this one, I feel like it's over. I don't care if it's 5-0 or 3-2 in a shootout. They have to come away with 2 points tonight. If they don't, then it's good night. Quote
buddha Posted March 16 Posted March 16 agreed that this is a must win, but they really are running an AHL lineup out there. THIS is where you expect your top 10 pick marco kasper to make a difference. Quote
slothfacekilla Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Nice to see Shiner throw a big (slightly questionable) hit and then win a fight Quote
slothfacekilla Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Great passes by Raymond and Johansson there Kane makes it 3-1 as I type this! Quote
