IdahoBert Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Waiting fruitlessly for the Tigers “pregame” show which will be exceedingly brief today beginning allegedly at 10 PM EDT. This means that half of it will be ads. I just now noticed that on mlb.com it gave a 10 PM start for the broadcast. I wonder if coverage is going to always be this sparse for the pregame show during road games… Quote
romad1 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Just because the likely performance tonight will not be anywhere as good as this. Does anyone recall that when Verlander single handedly got us past the Oakland As in the playoffs to the point of dominance that someone changed the wikipedia page to show that the owner of the A's was Justin Verlander? 1 Quote
monkeytargets39 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Guess we have to worry about Skubal leaving after this year and signing with Cure Auto Insurance Quote
IdahoBert Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Jason is talking about how they rarely have the roof open at Chase Field but when I was in Phoenix for a company conference in something like 2010 or so it was September and in Phoenix it’s 100° plus in September and they opened the roof that night. It was totally fine. Quote
monkeytargets39 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Can we please drop Carpenter to like 5th or 6th and move Gleyber to leadoff Quote
IdahoBert Posted March 31 Posted March 31 OBP Machine Torres walks for the sixth time in four games. Quote
IdahoBert Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Tork dribbles out to 3rd. Oh well. In his first swing, Riley looked like he would rather be on the golf course, but then he at least got an opposite field single but all of this is to no avail. Quote
chasfh Posted March 31 Posted March 31 It’s one thing to get hit hard on a couple of hits, but when you walk the guy after that, it generally does not augur well for the outing. Quote
romad1 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 He's way down in the zone. His best stuff has been at the top of the zone. Quote
chasfh Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I am convinced the reason Javy waves at stuff that ends up a foot outside is he simply cannot process input as quickly as just about any other big league hitter. I think he has to make his swing decision earlier than most, so he has to defend against anything that looks like a strike while it’s still 45 feet away, and make his decision then. So if you can execute a half-decent slider, you got him basically dead to rights. But make a mistake, and he’ll kill you. Quote
IdahoBert Posted March 31 Posted March 31 So, when I went to the kitchen and cut a very ripe avocado in half and seasoned it and de-pitted it did I miss anything important? <ducks> Quote
romad1 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Javy with an amazing catch. These guys are hitting everything Verlander throws. Quote
monkeytargets39 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Verlanders arsenal tonight is arrow straight fastballs and hanging breaking balls Quote
monkeytargets39 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 This game has the makings of Hurter coming in and pitching 3 scoreless garbage time innings to make his era look good Quote
lordstanley Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Storybook returns aren’t always like a Disney movie. Quote
