So much of the Pistons offense is triggered by their defense.  Much of that is triggered by Ausar.

I think they are showing that the Pistons are more than Cade and the 11 Dwarves. Ausar, Duren and Tobias aren't half bad,  and Daniss manages to hold his own.

11-4 without Cade this year.  The 15 opponents they played have a winning% of 44.2%.  So a back of the draft lottery level opponent.

didn’t the Spurs go from 1st to worst when they lost Robinson? I think that was a default assumption of what might happen when Cade went down.

The Spurs tanked that year.

I think most looked at how easy the schedule was and figured they would still finish 1st in the east.  A try hard team like Detroit is in perfect position to overcome injuries.  They win games by playing hard every night and don't rely on talent as a crutch like a lot of teams.  Huge credit to JB for getting that out of his team.

Some of us have questioned if that advantage goes away in the playoffs.  No odd travel, no Nets/Bulls/Pelicans in 3 of their next 4 games, no fake injuries to rest, teams will all be playing hard, etc.  I do think they will struggle to win a series without Cade.  The good news is, it sounds like he will be back for the playoffs.

Pistons are getting NO respect.    They keep winning without Cade and  they took OKC to OT on the road without Cade and Duren.     I hope this motivates them

Don't forget about Stewart. Just having him in the game and we probably win. Didn't Robinson and Harris also sit out that game? Thats 5 players that would have made a huge difference. Its amazing we were even in the game, let alone taking it to OT.

But beating the teams you're supposed to beat is a sign of a good team. With that being said, that loss to the Nets still irritates me. We had that game won and let them make an amazing comeback. The worse loss of the season, IMO.
