casimir Posted 22 hours ago Author Posted 22 hours ago Looks like the time has changed for this game from 1:30 to 4:30 per the MLB icon on my mobiular telephone. Quote

I know I was going to mention that I would miss this game because it would interfere with my Sunday afternoon walk with one of my best buds and now I think I will be able to follow it. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I'll miss the end of this game with the Piston playoffs starting at 6:30. With the Boston SP going against our LH hitters, it may be ugly. Maybe Lee will get another chance? Hope he's settled down and the game slows down for him. Quote

Seems like Hinch prefers IF defense to drive the starting lineup. I bet Lee gets a start at 2B, Torres at DH. Now, the question is where do McGonigle (SS or 3B?) and Baez (CF or SS?) play? Is that driven by LHP Crochet and Hinch using Vierling (or Perez) in CF? That's probably how it will play out, I would think. Boston will have RHP Gray on the mound tomorrow. You know, nobody wants to see McGonigle sit. But maybe today is a day to do it? He's going to at some point. Or maybe he starts today's game on the bench? Which, given the circumstances, I would call that a start at a new position I would call "lurking and ready to be unleashed". I don't know how that would fit on a box score. LARTBU? We might need to workshop that a bit. Quote
IdahoBert Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I too have been wondering about McGonigle getting a day off. He seems like a pop up toy with a good spring always ready to leap into action. But he needs a little rest too, like everybody. Quote
IdahoBert Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago The Boston Red Sox moved the Detroit Tigers game on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 1:35 p.m. to 4:35 p.m. (a three-hour delay) due to a forecast of heavy rain and poor weather conditions predicted for the mid-day. The decision was made to allow for better weather in the late afternoon and to provide the best opportunity to play the game Quote

IdahoBert Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago The weather forecast does not look promising for this game to be played today regardless of them rescheduling it for several hours later than originally planned. Kevin and the boys may get a day off anyway but unfortunately, they’ll have to be at the ballpark waiting it out. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I thought it was a typo...Crochet...with a 7.58 ERA. But then I saw the Twins lit him up for 10 Earned Runs in 1.2 innings. Hopefully, we dont get a mad Crochet... Quote

Tiger337 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Take McGonigle out of the line-up and it looks like crap. 1 Quote

CaliforniaDreaming Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago That lineup reminds me Sparky's weekend, get-away day lineups. Those days were painful! Quote
Sports_Freak Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago The kid has the start of the day off. A good LH bat to come off the bench with the bases loaded, one out and down by a run in the 8th inning. After he hits a bases clearing double, he can take off the rest of the day. 😅 Quote
IdahoBert Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I’m not in Boston right now, but according to my Yahoo Weather app it’s raining now and at game time and for the three hours after that it’s a 90% chance of rain. Quote
IdahoBert Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago On the Red Sox pregame show, the tarp is on the field and there’s a rain-ice mixture coming down. Quote
Tiger337 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago There is no ice. It has been drizzling most of the day, nothing heavy at all and the ground is barely damp. If it doesn't get heavy, they can play the game. Quote

Crazy Cat Gentleman Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Dillon Dingler is pretty good. follows Vierling's double with his own, 1-0. Quote
