This is exactly what Im saying.  The move hasn’t turned out right but you are giving him a free pass because it was the right move at the time.   Thats not how it should work.  This is a results business.  We need to spend more time judging the result than the planning that went into it.  Sure, that’s probably not “fair” to Brad but this is a really hard job.   He isn’t expected to get them all right but fans have gotten themselves into this mindset that it’s ok to miss as long as it the rationale at the time made sense.

The only reason it looks questionable in hindsight is because of the injury, that doesn't mean it was a mistake to extend him because how could they possibly know that he'd get injured. Based on his performance, it was a no brainer to extend him.

So if a move made perfect sense at the time but turns out to be wrong, the move was still a good one?    I don’t get that.

After St Brown, Williams and Teslaa, the depth is up in the air. You have Dortch on a one year contract and Lovett. It's not like they can't use another receiver.

I never said I liked or disliked the pick. I pointed out that the Lions don’t have the depth at receiver where they can’t take a receiver. 

One that immediately comes to mind is Hendon Hooker. That was back when y’all still wouldn’t listen to me about Goff. Drafting QBs in the mid round when you have an entrenched started is the right move since the Eagles did it. Trinity Benson was another one I didn’t like. I also didn’t think he got good value for Hockenson.
