So Baltimore at 14 had a trade in place that would have kept them in the teens and involved 4th round picks. The Lions were at 17 and had no 3rd round picks. Offensive lineman went at 9, 10, and 12. This mystery team sure sounds like the Lions.

Dallas and Miami swapped the 11th and 12th picks allowing Dallas to take Downs and Miami to take… Proctor.

Brad Holmes said he had considered moving up in the 1st to get Miller so I think you are correct...

Somehow, he must have gotten enough intel that indicated Miller would fall to them at 17 so he didn't need to make a move.

I think you are spot on with Baltimore...

They wanted Protcor and would have taken him at 14. There was never any risk of Miller going before 17 so moving up for him was not necessary.

Holmes also said one the Rams picked Simpson at 13, they were pretty certain Miller would be there at 17.

So my guess is... they think pretty highly of him making the 53-man roster would be my guess. Probably as a special teamer to begin with and then... expand his role eventually? Seems to be quite a commitment to a UDFA...

Unless these numbers are incorrect?

Every UDFA signs for 3 years at $3M which is league minimum. You look at the guarantees. He only got $175k guaranteed and $25k in signing bonus.
