Motown Bombers Posted April 28 Posted April 28 So Baltimore at 14 had a trade in place that would have kept them in the teens and involved 4th round picks. The Lions were at 17 and had no 3rd round picks. Offensive lineman went at 9, 10, and 12. This mystery team sure sounds like the Lions. Quote

Dallas and Miami swapped the 11th and 12th picks allowing Dallas to take Downs and Miami to take… Proctor. 🤷🏻♂️ Quote

Brad Holmes said he had considered moving up in the 1st to get Miller so I think you are correct... Somehow, he must have gotten enough intel that indicated Miller would fall to them at 17 so he didn't need to make a move. I think you are spot on with Baltimore... Quote
sagnam Posted April 28 Posted April 28 They wanted Protcor and would have taken him at 14. There was never any risk of Miller going before 17 so moving up for him was not necessary. Quote

1984Echoes Posted April 28 Posted April 28 (edited) We signed a UDFA linebacker (Saturday night or Sunday... Erick Hunter, so already known...): For $3 mill.: Lions Make Big Financial Commitment to Land Athletic Rookie LB So my guess is... they think pretty highly of him making the 53-man roster would be my guess. Probably as a special teamer to begin with and then... expand his role eventually? Seems to be quite a commitment to a UDFA... Unless these numbers are incorrect? Edited April 28 by 1984Echoes Quote

Every UDFA signs for 3 years at $3M which is league minimum. You look at the guarantees. He only got $175k guaranteed and $25k in signing bonus. 2 Quote
Jason_R Posted April 29 Posted April 29 That’s a lot of capital to give up for a guard. Would it surprise anyone if he ends up a bust in a floundering organization like Miami? Quote
Cruzer1 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Listening to Holmes on NFL radio, he said this was their best UDFA haul since he's been here. Quote
