It means I'm kidding around with you! 😂 (BTW, this face I just posted, with the eyes closed, big smile, and tears coming out of the eyes? That means I'm laughing because I'm amused.) I find the degree to which you complain about Harris kind of entertaining, so please, keep having at it. I don't find it offensive at all, in case you were thinking I do. I am simply on a different page with you as to what Harris should be doing to improve the organization in the long term, in that I believe in his building for the long term instead of gambling the future on the possibility of a few more wins today, something that generally has a roughly 50-50 chance of succeeding anyway. I see this as no more than a difference in opinion on the direction of the team. I prefer one way, you prefer another. Vive le difference. I also don't see that difference of opinion as a personal struggle between me and you. Hope this clarifies things some. So basically, playing by your rules, I can be totally rude. As long as I put some type of smiley face at the end? I could even call somebody a Harris kissass, as long as I put a 😅😅 at the end? Good to know.... Quote

But yes, if we lost every extra outfielder, Jones would be going out there. It's a bit like VMart playing 1st base, in an emergency, that was his position. That is interesting. I am pretty sure he had been listed as an outfielder most of the year. Is someone reading this forum again? 1 Quote

It truly hasn't been my goal to make you upset and I really don't want to get into a feud of some kind, so I will back away. Quote

You don't need to be sorry, I've said several times that I hear Harris has done a very good job, at some aspects. Several posters, who's opinions I really respect, talk about how good he has done rebuilding our empty farm system. That's very important. However, building up a quality farm system isn't just to supply the big league team with talent, it's also to use prospects in trades for established quality players. We all know how many prospects actually work out, it's not a real high percentage. So he hasn't used any of his prospects in any significant trades and this is where you are distracting and distorting from the original topic. When I asked you his best trade, you mentioned a pitcher he traded 3 years ago and we received a utility infielder in return. That's pathetic. And then there's the money he has totally wasted on trying to build a pitching staff. The JV, Cobb, and Valdez contracts are what? About 60 million dollars? This Tiger team had a huge collapse last season because of a lack of scoring runs. So how did he improve that problem? He signed pitching???? And didnt bring in a single bat??? So yeah, overall, a failure. But....at least he didnt rehire Brad Ausmus....yet. 😅😅 Quote

About 60 million dollars? look at that this way, that's a year and half of Skubal at a $40M AAV. A lot of us here, and rightfully so, more or less take the position that it's not our money and the teams and owners are quite wealthy so we don't care what they spend, and from the standpoint of not caring about the impact on management wealth that's valid, but the team as a competitive unit still has to manage the resources they have to put a winning team on the field, so wasted contracts do matter *if* the team is going to turn around and say - "we can't afford to sign our own guy even though he's really good". So that hasn't happened yet, but it's a very believable scenario. Quote
