Valdez with a heartwarming homecoming tonight.

He pulls out a luger and shoots his former catcher.

I kind of like that he always looks pissed.  I think I would appreciates his anger routine if he were pitching better.

speaking of looking pissed, I'm surprised Christian Walker's act hasn't worn thin on his manager. The camera cut away but it looked like he wasn't going to run out a pop up last night.

Walker was a guy I had thought I would have liked us to take a run at, although in retrospect I can see that was never going to happen because that would have required us to cut bait on Tork.

Watching last night‘s game and when they focused on a husband and wife with Tigers jerseys in the stands, I noticed that the husband has the home jersey with the new D logo, but the wife has the old school D logo on hers. She is definitely “a keeper.“

So are the Astros aware of the fact that all they have to do is insert a left hander in the third or fourth inning and they can yank Colt Keith - who has probably already homered - out of the lineup to make way for a “specialist?”

Is the Tigers physical training staff or whatever the heck they’re called deficient, or are they just having bad luck?

there is such a thing as training for resiliency, you think it would be built into whatever any pro is doing today but who knows? There is no free lunch - if doing one thing means you can't maximize something else that is more directly performance related we all know how that decision will go.

Baseball players are the biggest babies.  Hockey players take the ice with broken bones and torn ligaments while baseball players need time off because they think they felt something.
