IdahoBert Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Hey surprise surprise I’m posting in the wrong thread again! At least I’m consistent! 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted July 5 Posted July 5 So Mize gives up a home run a second decker, and then lines out to Riley. Two hard hit balls in a row. Quote
chasfh Posted July 5 Posted July 5 (edited) Lots of times an outfielder will run after a ball hit into the gap, reach out, catch it on his feet, and then dive to the ground to elicit applause. At least that's how it looks to me a lot of times, and I think there are lots of players capable of willfully deceiving us in that way just to get the applause. It works, for sure, but it looks cheap when it happens. That is NOT what happened with Riley on his catch. He reached full extension with his right arm, glove turned back to the plate to catch the ball, and was airborne when he made that catch. That was a legit leaping grab. Nothing cheap about it. No notes. Edited July 5 by chasfh Quote
IdahoBert Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Good God, it’s time for the Tigers to score some runs. It’s the fourth inning… Quote
IdahoBert Posted July 5 Posted July 5 I almost called that 2-run home run… But I double checked to make sure I was in the right game thread… Otherwise I would’ve done it… 1 Quote
Dan Gilmore Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Riley’s shot sounds impressive, will have to check recaps for video (radio only for me). Quote

IdahoBert Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Outman beats out a squib for a single! Ha! Oh no, the Rangers are bringing in a left-handed pitcher… there goes our whole lineup … gone … gone… Quote
Sports_Freak Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Anybody get the distance on the Riley HR? That thing went a mile.... Quote
chasfh Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Man, you just cannot stop the kids McGonigle and Dingler. They are just super consistently good all the time. Imagine having two or three more guys just like that. Quote
IdahoBert Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Carpenter is being allowed to hit? So AJ didn’t take the bait? Quote
