  1. Past hour
  2. I don't think they care that much. They will still drive policy in the United States and make billions one way of the other once he is gone. They always do. I think he is probably easier for them to manipulate, but they can still get what they want.
  3. My "frame rate" perception has slowed down terribly at my age. I can see clearly at a specific distance to my eyes. I used to be 20/20 and never noticed any adjustment from distance to "close-up". But now, it seems like it takes my eyes a minute or two to adjust to a change in depth so distance looks "fuzzy" to me (I'm no longer 20/20), but worse, movement by an object and my eyes cannot adjust quickly enough. I REALLY noticed this 15 years ago when we were playing lunchtime wiffle ball and my eyes were just NOT adjusting to the wiffle ball coming in fast enough to get a good swing. Only at the very last second was the wiffle ball clear enough to me that I could recognize spin, or lack thereof, or anything.
  4. Congress has been disapproved of more than every President in every year that I've been alive. My point still stands. He's widely despised in the broader public, and The Big Club that you speak of, the guys like Bezos and Cook and Musk, would all prefer that he weren't. They would all prefer that we all hold our tongues, withhold any donations, not volunteer, not engage in any political activism, and not vote.
  5. Sure, they don't like him, but the disapproval rating of congress is even worse. A lot worse. They don't trust anybody. https://news.gallup.com/poll/1600/congress-public.aspx
  6. Similarly... I believe everyone here has stated that there is no reason to sign any of Greene, Tork, or Carpenter to a second contract. But let's test that theory (and I'll even add in Casey Mize to this little exercize): Said X Player _____ _____ tells the Tigers they are willing to sign a 3-4 year contract at a "hometown discount". Who says no to that: The player (meaning the player will NOT be open to a short hometown discount contract with the Tigers) or the Tigers? We know Skubal is an absolute no to that because he and Boras are single-minded bent on testing the free agent market. But of the following players, who says no to that, the player, the team, and/or the fans? Casey Mize, 3 years below market deal: Who says no: Casey ____ ? Tigers _____ ? Motown Morons ______ ? Kerry Carpenter, 3 years below market deal: Who says no: Kerry ____ ? Tigers _____ ? Motown Morons ______ ? Riley Greene, 4 years below market deal: Who says no: Riley ____ ? Tigers _____ ? Motown Morons ______ ? Torkelson, 3 years below market deal: Who says no: Tork ____ ? Tigers _____ ? Motown Morons ______ ?
  7. I think the public takes it more seriously than you think (he's getting -25 to -30 polls for a reason). But The Big Club wields a big stick in his favor, and they would prefer that all the people who disapprove of this President would all just shut up about it.
  8. I think the only deal that could get done would be a straight Captain flip of Larkin for Tkchuck.
  9. It's not the same, but I think the left cried wolf too many times and now that we have a real problem, not enough people take it seriously. They think it's still Clinton vs Bush.
  10. Given the fact that people are increasingly pointing fingers at them and are identifying them with Trump and his administration, my point stands.
  11. What they don't want is for everybody to start pointing fingers at them instead.
  12. Yaya Diaby: 6'4" 270, decent but not great pass-rusher. Maxx Crosby: 6'5" 255, nasty, aggressive mauler as a pass-rusher, not quite as good as an edge setter. Averages 10 sacks per year, 38 QB pressures per year, 3 passes defensed per year. Derrick Moore: 6'4" 255, nasty, aggressive mauler as a pass-rusher, not quite as good as an edge setter. Had 10 sacks last year with UM in 12 games, and 41 QB pressures and 3 PD's. Moore may not "become" Maxx Crosby 2.0... but I think his play "style" is far more similar to Crosby than anyone else. Including Diaby. I'm placing my expectations on DM at Maxx Crosby 2.0. Sorry if some people on here get upset by that.
  13. 1000%. Tired of having to pretend that the behavior observed out of both sides of the political spectrum with my own eyes and ears are the same. It just isn't.
  14. Tracey has been an utter POS for a long, long time. That this alleged fight stemmed from his own Epstein denialism is a good indicator of just how *much* of a POS he is.
  15. Absolutely the best possible news we could get.
  16. I would do that deal in a heartbeat (make the 2027 1st top 5 protected though) but i don’t think Ottawa would. They’d want an established player, likely Edvinsson.
  17. I am less impressed with the A Pox On Both Their Houses position than ever before. Not only is it wholly inaccurate at those time, it actually lets the right off the hook for their obvious iniquity by equivocating the left to the same degree.
  18. I think The Big Club would much more prefer it if those who disapproved of Donald Trump would just shut up about it.
  19. LOL, studies have shown that the right is more violent, but you can't deny that us versus them among lower classes is exactly what The Big Club wants.
  20. I'm sorry, but treating the current breakdown in American political culture and the violent undertones of it as being completely symmetrical is a bunch of hooey. There is one party that is led by a leader that sicced a mob on the capitol, there is one party that is led by a leader that blanket pardoned all of the people involved, has legitimized groups like the Proud Boys, the Oath Keepers, etc. I understand the tendency to want to see things from both sides and all.... but on this particular subject, it's wildly asymmetrical and oughtta be treated as such. And the fact that we treat "both sides" as if they are "the same" on this only emboldens more bad behavior.
  21. The right hates the left and thinks it is dangerous. The left hates the right and thinks it is dangerous. This is a perfect scenario for The Big Club and the politicians which support it.
  22. Still too many people buying Teslas and thinking its ok.
  23. Today
  24. If either or both of the 3rd rounders were more than complete duds I'd agree that it's an A or even A+ draft. I get where both of you are coming from: MB: You got FOUR A+ players... how can this be anything other than a spectacular, A+ draft? MCS: You got ZERO production out of TWO 3rd round picks. Can't give a perfect score for a draft with that. On one hand this has to be one of the best drafts by any team in terms of star players acquired. All four of those players could end up being HOF players. And yet... it could have been more.
  25. Your point is... what exactly? Ridiculing these guys as a bunch of weirdos isn't a downplay of a threat that they present. But they're also deeply despised right now in the broader culture, much more than they were in November 2024. And they oughtta be treated accordingly.
  26. They sure do. But then, the Nazis sounded like a bunch of weirdos for their first ten years, too.
