  2. “Because it is such an open sewer of an arrangement, this is the most soul-sucking, despicable, and scandalous transaction ever conducted by a head of state not named Borgia. It dwarfs all the scandals in this country’s history—Whiskey Ring, Crédit Mobilier, Teapot Dome, Watergate, Iran–Contra. It puts in the shade all the grifting and double-dealing and outright theft that democracy is heir to. Boss Tweed was a piker compared to this guy, and John Mitchell was a Franciscan monk.” https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/politics/a71341893/trump-irs-lawsuit-settlement-anti-weaponization-fund/
  3. Today
  4. yeah- that is the thing. Not many guys with that body have survived the NBA for long careers.
  5. if wemby stays healthy, he will be the best player of all time.
  6. the only gm better than sam presti is san antonio's gm: adam silver.
  7. Harper with a hell of a stat line. 24 points 11 rebounds 6 assists 1 TO and 7 steals. Not bad for a rookie.
  8. shouldn't your battery figure that out after maybe two batters? This has always been the limiting factor with tendency statistics about players/teams. If I measure the output tolerance distribution of a screw machine, the results are fixed by the fact that it is a fully determinant process. It will reliably produce exactly what my measurements predict it will. In sport, almost everything you measure about an athlete has some determinate properties, but it also always has an indeterminate component as well because what an athlete does is always subject to what he decides to try to do, and he can decide to change that at any time.
  9. I think Hinch's brilliance had a lot to do with garbage can lids.
  10. The lack of power is very concerning. It'll carry over to next year. Greene hasn't hit for much power this season. Dingler has solid power. Carpenter is not healthy enough to rack up a goodly number of home runs. Torkelson has power but it's tough to stay in the lineup with a .190 average. Everyone else on the roster will struggle to get to 10. Harris has constructed a roster with punch and judy hitters who, for the most part, have trouble even hitting singles. You can't consistently win with a roster constructed like that.
  11. Maybe the hitters are over coached ? Is that possible ? IDK
  12. We have been playing bad baseball for many months despite a good playoff run but I do not think Hinch is the problem. At least not yet.
  13. But I was told Hinch is the most brilliant manager in baseball.
  14. That was noted during the game. Coming into tonight Cleveland had the lowest first pitch swing percentage in baseball so knowing the Tigers would play to that they flipped the switch and swung early. And scored Big.
  15. Wemby is such a freak. I'm still bitter about us not getting that pick. Cade and Wemby would have dominated the league for a decade.
  16. Great win for the Spurs. Especially without Fox.
  17. Then Chet gets blocked at the rim by 6'5" Vassell.
  18. You have to let him dunk that
  19. Mark Fuhrman died today. He indirectly helped a guilty man go free on OJ Simpson with his disastrous testimony.
  20. That's all you needed to say. You can only go so far when every player on your roster is a choice between offense and defense.
  21. The Thunder are going to regret maxing Chet
  22. Ramirez could be a HOFer just based on his games against Detroit. The offense is still on Harris. He hasn't added one solid bat since he's been the GM. But thank goodness we used the $13 million on Verlander and $30 million on Valdez. Terrible signings
  23. Caruso is the MVP tonight
  24. I have to admit, this game is absolutely nuts. The East doesn't stand a chance against either of these teams.
