  1. Is he hanging out with @Tigeraholic1 and drunk Uncle Tom?
  2. @Tigeraholic1 is too busy getting his clocks ready for spring ahead day tonight. Or maybe he’s blotto drunk with Tom Gores. I don’t know. Either way, I got you. Let’s use this piece of property on the interwebs to discuss the upcoming athletic event of professional hardwood basketball between Luka Doncic and his Dallas Mavericks against our drunk uncle Tom’s Detroit Pistons. Allez les Pistons!
  3. I don’t find Biden inspiring. But I’m not sure I’m looking for inspiration right now, if it’s a choice between old and uninspiring vs old and dangerously senile, it’s an easy choice for me to make. Unfortunately that’s the binary choice that we will have. As far as forgetting how unbearable Trump can be, I’m not sure about that. I suppose he’s fallen a bit more to the back pages the last few years as opposed to when he was president. But it’s not like he’s been quietly golfing and tending to charities since he tried to overthrow the government.
  4. I kind of hope Joey Votto can stick with Toronto. He seems to be one of the more fun characters in the league. He’s facing the end of his career, and he isn’t afraid to publicly wear that fact on his sleeve and acknowledge that it’s tough to face it. He just got a bit of a life line from his home town team, although the timing of the deal and the depth chart really aren’t at all advantageous to him.
  5. Someone’s going to need a wellness check.
  6. Yeah, I think I remember that now.
  7. She didn't put forth much an effort to sell me on a commute. I wonder if she knew it'd be at least 2 hours one way.
  8. Forcing us to use our Little Orphan Annie secret decoder rings today, eh?
  9. Hmmm..... I don't think there can be a middle ground with this. Hat tip for walking the fine line of risk/reward.
  10. I had an inquiry out of the blue last week. The title of the job was curiously above what I am looking for. The company didn't have any facilities around me. So I replied back with the obligatory appreciation for reviewing my resume, but here are some immediate concerns that I have based on the little of what I know of this opportunity vs what I am looking for. I was specific to not wanting to relocate and job level. The recruiter got back with me and thought that this was still a fit based on what I had mentioned, they still liked my resume, would I still be interested? OK, sure, let's set up a chat. This corp recruiter called a few minutes late. Thankfully right out of the gate she mentioned the onsite job location being two hours away from where I am currently located. Obviously this wasn't going to work. She asked if I would offer up why I wouldn't relocate, and I simply said it wasn't going to work for my family situation. What I should have done (OK, shouldn't have but wanted to do) was asked why she didn't consider this concern when I offered it up right away from the start. "Well, please know that we do accept referrals for our open positions." OK, sure thing.
  11. How about they just sign Jesus?
  12. I don't know if this is true, but it gave me a chuckle. LeBron James' career averages are currently 27/7/7. He's never had a 27/7/7 game.
  13. Yup, that should be the starting 5. The rest of the regular rotation is filled in with Sasser, Grimes, Stewart, and I guess one of Fournier/Brown. Fournier has the proven 3 which could stretch the floor. Brown's 3% has gotten better over the years and is the younger player, so maybe him rather than Fournier?
  14. Yeah, it does say that in the fine print, doesn't it? They need to include one sideburn, too. It always seemed like one sideburn stopped around his ear and the other one went two inches below the ear. If BSD does interview someone with the garb on, I hope they eat through the interview.
  15. Speaking of good old Jimmy... You have to supply your own Marlboros?
  16. It was more the colors that caught my attention. I thought we all agreed that pitcher wins and fielding percentage were the bees' knees.
  17. I thought that was more going on the offensive than the defensive, but that's just me.
  18. Not that a 16 footer is equivalent to a free throw, but he's got the chops from the line. Those 3Ps are probably end of clock heaves. So essentially all but 5% of his FG attempts are 10 feet and in.
  19. Split squad doubleheader tomorrow, both night games. I believe one of the games is on Bally Sports Extra.
  20. Tell you what, let’s try this. Give me $100 million and then try pissing me off. I’ll let you know if it works.
  21. It’s probably a little more validated than Rafael Palmiero’s gold glove award. But do we know how the defensive awards are handled for the minor leagues?
  22. Meanwhile, down here in reality….
  23. "That’s if he sticks at second base. Jung was a surprise Rawlings Minor League Gold Glove winner given his pre-Draft reputation, but he impressed Tigers officials and Minor League managers with his ability to handle what’s hit to him with his good hands. However, his lack of range limits his defensive ceiling up the middle, and his trial at third coincided with Colt Keith getting looks at the keystone. Jung’s offensive ability is too good to ignore, and should he keep hitting the right benchmarks, he'll remain valuable in the lineup regardless of his defensive spot." https://www.mlb.com/prospects/tigers/jace-jung-690291
  24. Yup. He's overpaid, but that's what free agency usually results in for the bigger contracts. It is what it, its a sunk cost and won't be discounted by one penny unless Harris can find a team to take Baez. And even then, I'm not sure it'd be worth the prospects to send and/or the equal bad contracts coming back to get it done. Baez still plays damn good defense at SS. Its not like he's a complete waste on the field. And with the way the rest of the lineup is shaping up, hitting Baez lower in the lineup would be a way to not hide his bat, but lower its importance.
