  1. This might look better in the correct game thread, rookie. 🤣
  2. I'm not sure where Martinez or Turner would have fit on this roster. I think they needed a 3B and another RHH OF (preferably CF). They were pretty much elsewhere heading into camp, whether or not the options were liked (see, Baez). I'm not sure Turner would have worked out defensively at 3B and Martinez is probably only a DH at this point. I was interested in Matt Chapman on a shorter deal despite his cascading offense last season. He's at .211/.261/.340 so far, so perhaps the downfall is more career trajectory rather than blip on the radar?
  3. I kind of wonder if the hat would work better with an Old English "MC" as opposed to the slanted "DETROIT"? I understand these city connects are supposed to be a break from the normal, but I think incorporating tradition would work. Other than that, these rags suck out loud and there's no helping them.
  4. Speaking of the TWolves, I listened to a fun podcast about how Glen Taylor screwed over Alex Rodriguez’ ownership group.
  5. The NBA’s Mother’s Day gift to all.
  6. I think this sounds reasonable. But besides the shorter term merits of the major league team, Harris also needs to get the minor leagues in order. It sounds like that is being done. Now, perhaps the earliest fruit from those improvements can be a part of next season’s MLB team, but that might be pushing it.
  7. There probably are a few people calling for Harris’ head, but are they worth listening to?
  8. Well, he did trade for Canha. If not a strong bat, certainly an above league average bat. We can go through the lineup and see the offensive deficiency so far this season is the IF (save for Vierling) and catcher. The OF/DH/3B has been around or above career OPS on an individual basis (and we can debate CF with Meadows/Perez as inconclusive, that's fine). But Baez has been abysmal at the plate. Torkelson seems to have regressed. Keith has scuffled more than expected. I think the catching duo is below .600 OPS. Where would this team be with nominal production at those positions?
  9. I don't think anyone is saying the Tigers aren't better now than when Harris arrived.
  10. Normacly or decency? Because after 7+ years, I think this has unfortunately become somewhat normal.
  11. Greene is still young and at the beginning of his career. But his resume is actually worse with runners in scoring position than not. Seems contrary to the rest of the league, and I wouldn't necessarily try to put him into a position where he can avoid runners in scoring position. But I'm comfortable with him in the top third of the order, leadoff included.
  12. Five years is too long. There's room to add salary (although it wasn't a good free agent offseason). The pitching is already competitive. There are a few hitters to work with currently. I can understand going through some of the prospects to see what's there. But at some point they need to improve the offense, and it shouldn't take five years.
  13. Sure, the odds go down. They don't go down to zero.
  14. I don’t know, that seems a bit harsh. Yes, the fan base has endured for while now. But that’s not all on Hinch and Harris.
  15. He got his CAPS LOCK button fixed, so that’s nice.
  16. Sorry, I guess I’m not looking for the L during a game.
  17. Well, except for the fact that they have won some of these one run games already. But you’re probably right, they’re going to win more games on the count of low scoring where the pitching is very good and the defense near flawless.
  18. What I don’t understand about bringing Foley in for the 7th is that, I think anyway, he is the best reliever? So, he’s being brought in to face 5-6-7 when the game is going to come around to 1-2-3-4 even if the relief is perfect though the 7th and 8th. I don’t think your “closer” needs to be only used in the 9th. I can more understand bringing him in there if the top of the lineup were due up in the 7th and 8th innings, and Foley was to get that string of hitters. I would think bridging until then with Foley would have been what happened today. Besides that, Olson was doing fine. I think his only stressful inning was due to Ibanez’ error? I know he was up against 90, but if it’s a relatively unstressful 90, let him pitch. Have the bullpen ready, don’t let him face the tying run.
  19. Yes, sports freak already told me before the game was over.
  20. You were close.
  21. Just saying.....
  22. Get out of here with that mentality. That was 2018-2023. That era is over.
  23. They have to figure out a way to pull this game out, I'm seeing the in laws tonight. I don't want to hear about a loss today.
