  1. I’m not sure the TV angles were conclusive on whether or not Barnhart got a tag on Carpenter. I don’t necessarily have any qualms about sending Carpenter there. The thing that surprised me from watching it on TV, I wouldn’t have guessed he’d have been quick enough to get around the bases in time to make it a close play. Granted, the ball caromed high off of the wall and there was a bit of a fumble on the ball in the outfield. Then the Baez leap and throw in the next half inning. Heck of an attempt by he on the catch and throw and by Rogers at the plate. The throw was skipped and Rogers couldn’t catch it cleanly. But I don’t know if the play was there for them without playing it absolutely perfectly. Thems the breaks, I guess.
  2. Why ruin the narrative with facts?
  3. Manning allowed 13 baserunners vs 15 outs. He didn’t keep them in the game. Arizona failed to run away with the game.
  4. By the way, does anyone else catch themselves once in a while wondering how Detroit’s starting pitcher will do at the plate when visiting an NL park?
  5. My wife’s grandmother was well into Alzheimer’s when I came around. But I could tell she was a sweetheart when she had her wits about her because she’d ask you how you were doing and wish you Happy New Year no matter what day it was. She also know at Thanksgiving when her wine glass was empty and to simply hold it up and say quite matter of factly “mine’s empty”.
  6. I have the suspicion that Ishbia is going to run that franchise into the ground.
  7. Any word on the cleats?
  8. Maybe he should rotate arms to ease up on the usage of just one?
  9. They showed it a bit on Ballys. The Gallon and Flaherty were yelling back and forth at each other. Then they showed Lovullo yelling and motioning with his hand (yapping motion) at one point. How close were you to it? Could you hear any of the banter?
  10. Oh, I’m not adverse to it at all. Just seems like an impossible task.
  11. It’s the Vladimir Guerrero (Sr) strike zone. From his nose to his toes.
  12. Seems quite an aggressive haul for a half season of a pitcher on a reclamation contract, albeit he is pitching very well.
  13. Why not move him back to 3B?
  14. More pitching mound shenanigans, please.
  15. Hasn’t he already had two major arm injuries? Both TJ?
  16. I like the idea of drafting up the middle if the choices aren't too much of a reach. SS, CF, SP, C.
  17. If you change the rule to 3 players need to stand right next to each other and do the X thing, maybe they can get OnlyFans to sponsor this reset timeout?
  18. Verlander and Scherzer as Tigers are starting to feel like a long time ago.
  19. We might know a guy that knows guy that knows a guy that knows
  20. I've read this a few times. I think you've got a combination of sarcasm and reality that masks from me what you're getting at. Bottom line is this. You're married, and so you and your wife have to make life decisions that you think are best for your family. That's fine, some of us around here are married, we get the drill. But those decisions are for you to make. Butker's return to priests with backs turned to the congregation while conducting Catholic mass in Latin commentary was about men being men and women being women, pure and simple. There is no gray area about what he was getting at. And so **** his opinion on that.
  21. Just to add to this nugget, MLB average is 14.2%. https://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/majors/2024-situational-batting.shtml It seems impossible that (1) the Tigers would be slightly above average at such a metric and that (2) Baez would be one of the team leaders in such a metric.
  22. This is the issue with it. "Let me interrupt your graduation ceremony with my personal beliefs of what's best for you women out there".
  23. I mentioned before, he sounds more Chicago than Detroit in the commercial that he yammers about his hat.
