  1. Don Kelly had a dozen gloves? I ain't gonna question him. If Mozart had a dozen wands, would you question it? If Picasso had a dozen paint brushes, would you question it?
  2. Maybe she's a furry and this was her coming out party? I don't know.
  3. Are Keith and Jung too similar enough in defensive weaknesses that its going to be tough to carry both at some combination of 2B/3B? I get their calling cards are their bats, but the gloves are part of the equation, too. Maybe I'm wrong, but with what I've read and heard, it sounds like both are 3B. Keith gets 2B this season as a way to promote his bat to Detroit, and not force his arm across the diamond at 3B for the immediate future, but it will be strong enough to handle it longer term.
  4. You and I are conversing Broadway (albeit very minimally) on the interwebs. We cannot let our wives know about this. It'll ruin our street cred with them. Her cousin never did shows in high school and now that she's off on her own, she's really acquired a taste for it. Part of it is to meet new people as she's off in a new location. This was her first role where she had a bit of an extended solo part. I feel bad for her that this wacked show was it, but hey, good for her, she's progressing up the ranks and she enjoys it.
  5. Let's wait and see how Gibson folds into the rotation.
  6. Is it April Fool's Day?
  7. My wife's cousin was in a community theatre production of Cats. I'd never seen it before. My guess is that the production was in general pretty similar to the original. My only conclusion is that ain't no way that show was conceived by a sober mind.
  8. I think he'd be better in the studio, pregame/postgame.
  9. Cunningham has stepped up his 3FG% this season. I am tired of seeing Stewart launching 3s. Looks at stats for both. Decides this is the end of this post.
  10. That is something that a non broadcaster visiting the booth might not be aware of during the broadcast. And so add this to what I mentioned above about not wanting to cut Horton off, and it is tough navigation for Benetti or anyone else to get through. Just to clarify, I don't think chas was being critical in as much as just pointing out what was going on in the booth at the time.
  11. Oh, mais oui, tres bien!
  12. Honestly, I don't recall a whole of that.
  13. Its kind of an impossible situation to interview Willie Horton and broadcast a game at the same time. Everybody loves Willie. When he speaks, you want to give him his space and not step on his words. Rightfully so, he's a legend, he has some yarns to spin. But its tough to weave that in with calling a game. For what its worth, Horton really seems to love what he sees in Colt Keith.
  14. I remember the defensive reputation he had. Maybe coupling that with a young rotation was part of the overblown good vibes that were being broadcast.
  15. Looking forward to watching the broadcast after work. It should be helpful that it will be unseasonably warm today, mid 70s and sunny.
  16. This one was on the starters. All 5 were at -19 or worse. Somehow they were out scored by only 9 in the 3rd? That sure seems like a typo. It felt like they were outscored by 20.
  17. Was Barnhart ever good enough to be considered a bust? I think the theory was a lefty/righty pairing at catcher, but I don’t think the physicality of the catching duties lends to a straight platoon operating there. But looking at his career heading into that season, should there really have been any optimism behind his signing?
  18. St. Casimir’s Day is tomorrow. He drove the snakes out of Poland. Enjoy your red beer.
  19. I successfully resisted the urge to purchase that sweatshirt. Actually, it wasn’t that difficult at all.
  20. I believe I saw a small moose along our travels. The woman to whom I’m related by marriage was driving and of course the kids had their faces attached to their phones. By the time we turned the family truckster around, the quad legger had vanished. It appeared larger than a deer, but I don’t think it would have been large enough to be an adult moose. 0 for puffins. 0 for black bears. Did see some harbor seals, so that was nice. The trip was originally Boston only, But the two adults had always wanted to go to Maine. We were in the neighborhood, so that itinerary was added. Unfortunately weather wasn’t always kind to us once we got to our landing spots. But, hey, it was better than being at work, so huzzah.
  21. You don’t get a picture today. Pictures are for winners.
  22. We had a puffin viewing trip booked whilst in Bar Harbor. Alas, ‘‘twas too foggy, and so it was cancelled.
  23. It just keeps getting better and better. Not for nothing, but the family vacation took us to Maine & Boston last year. We got to see Cadillac Mountain in the Bar Harbor area. Why is this significant? Because it’s the first piece of American property that sees sunrise every day (weather permitting). Don’t believe me? Well, I don’t blame you. But you can google that factoid for yourself or just wait for it on Jeopardy.
  24. Is there a toro beyond the outfield wall that a hitter can try to smash with a home run ball for some carne asada?
  25. My mind’s ear always hears an expletive in between Donny and Sands.
