  3. Oh, I’m not saying NIL is the best and cleanest business model. But Urbz suddenly reaches for morals? Come on…..
  4. Is “go to guy” code for “research donkey”?
  5. Nobody went with Canha Slamha? I’m a little disappointed.
  6. Cincinnati at San Francisco. Gonna be a short night for him traveling back for tomorrow’s Tiger game. Old friend Buck Farmer is on the bump right now. Old friend Candelario at 1B. Oh, the memories….
  7. OK, OK, I got Monday's games.
  8. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/urban-meyer-believes-nil-in-college-football-has-evolved-into-cheating-thats-not-what-the-intent-is/ That's cheating? OK, Urbz.....

  10. Is another bat entering the conversation? That HR bagel is awfully stale.
  11. I know quality start is a somewhat debatable stat. But, the Tigers are currently 5th in MLB at 47%. League average is 37%.
  12. The cruel irony of this 1-6 stretch game is that the game they won is also the game in which they allowed the most runs.
  13. I guess when I see names brought up, I like to see how they fit the roster. Martinez and Turner didn't fit defensively or as bench options. That's part of the reason I really like the Canha trade. The Tigers needed a RHH OF and a backup 1B, among other things. He fit both defensively and has the kind of bat that the lineup needed.
  14. I didn't realize how many walks he drew. Career 12.7% BB% vs 8.7% league average.
  15. This is just as false as false can be. Deer was a Tiger from 1991 through mid 1993. Cleveland's first winning season eva was 1994. I'm not even sure baseball was acknowledged in Cleveland before that. They played in a football stadium for crying out loud.

  17. Did the Tigers' minor leagues sign off on this?
  18. Dude, why do I have to do all of the work? Are you afraid of numbers of something?
  19. “Hey Todd, we’ll need you to read this sentence tonight. Can you say veritable essence?”
  20. A long, long, long, long time ago, I was wandering the concourse of Tiger Stadium before a game. I have no idea where they came from, but Deer and Trammell were walking ahead of me. And then they opened some door and vanished just like that. There were others on the concourse, but nobody bugged them along that short stroll. I guess everybody else was too gobsmacked to see players walking around there like I was.
  21. Since nobody asked for it.... https://stathead.com/baseball/versus-finder.cgi?player_id2=torkel000spe&player_id1=deer--001rob&request=1&utm_campaign=2023_01_wdgt_player_comparison&utm_source=br&utm_medium=sr_xsite&utm_id=deerro01
  22. Hat tip to @Tigeraholic1
  23. This might look better in the correct game thread, rookie. 🤣
  24. I'm not sure where Martinez or Turner would have fit on this roster. I think they needed a 3B and another RHH OF (preferably CF). They were pretty much elsewhere heading into camp, whether or not the options were liked (see, Baez). I'm not sure Turner would have worked out defensively at 3B and Martinez is probably only a DH at this point. I was interested in Matt Chapman on a shorter deal despite his cascading offense last season. He's at .211/.261/.340 so far, so perhaps the downfall is more career trajectory rather than blip on the radar?
