  1. Is this on a Tshirt in the merch store?
  2. The Tigers are off Thursday and the Prates head to Atlanta for a Thursday night game. A getaway doubleheader wouldn’t be the worstest thing, especially if it’s a traditional just change into a new uniform and suck down a heater and a chocolate milk in a half hour doubleheader.
  3. There was a system that moved through earlier. That has since cleared out. There are some thinner lines of pop up type storm lines forming in Ohio, so I guess those bear watching.
  4. Uhm..... I work at a food processing plant. Sitting here taking a quick break from spreadsheets right now. Hold on, let me look out my window.... Yup, still here. And I have no heard about this happening to sister plants, or vendors, or competitors, but hey, I don't get out much. By the way, we're hiring. Come on in, fill out a job application. I give plant tours to those that have passed the screen & interview. I'll let you see how the good stuff is made.
  5. Seems a good day to start a winning streak. Who's with me?
  6. Anybody is available for the right price. Except for maybe Fetter.
  7. Oh, I know, it makes sense because the choices are pretty much made for them. Its just somewhat amusing because of the recent OF alignments featuring players that have predominantly been IFs (can't say natural IFs). Amusing because this season forces you to laugh to keep from crying.
  8. Batting averages? How cute.
  9. Clemens at 3B? They’re going to stick an IF quickly converted to OF onto the IF? Is that even legal?
  10. Indeed. By any measure of decent defense, the Tigers probably should have won today. Yesterday the Yankees were held to a mere 3 runs in a game started by AA level fodder. Any kind of a showing by the offense makes that a winnable game, too.
  11. I thought this was a reasonable idea, but, whatever.
  12. Alright, 6 outs, get out of there without being swept. A few days off this week around a trip to Pittsburgh, maybe a few players getting back to the big club this week. Just get 6 outs and salvage something out of this series.
  13. I use this a lot with a Yankee coworker.
  14. At the very least, there was this result. One of the things that I would like in terms of managing a series is to dig into the opposition's bullpen as much as possible to make the pitching decisions a little more complicated for the rest of the series. On the flip side, the Tigers really gave an advantage to the Yankees last night. The defense just didn't seem to be as crisp on a couple of other plays as well. The quicker the OF alignment can get back to what was expected, the better. It wasn't great shakes to begin with, but at least there will be actual OFs out there.
  15. Oh, concur. The game itself sucked. The broadcast sucked. Not seeing Gerrit Cole have a toddleresque melt down sucked. We all wasted 3 hours of our lives we will never get back.
  16. The Tigers need to try pushing this button.
  17. I just want something insightful. The Toledo Walleye have a female broadcaster for some of its TV games, and she understands the game, can pick up on the action, and communicates it well. If she had pink hair and a nose ring, it wouldn't affect her broadcast at all.
  18. I was eyeballing the probabilities during the game. Didn't always make much sense (ex, on base probability would increase going from a neutral count to a pitcher friendly count), seemed to be updated right before or during the Ps windup.
  19. I think I’ve seen the comparison to Fidrych before. Is this for realz?
  20. Indeed. That's what I take away from the game. That and Galarraga is the only pitcher to throw a 28 out perfect game.
  21. The only problem with this is I don't like the lack of position players on the active roster. I think we can all agree that there are times that players should be allowed to play through slumps and there are times when players need to be sat down for a day or two just to get away from the in game frustration that could mount game after game. We can guess as to when this is needed for particular players. Heck, management themselves probably sometimes guess at when its time to sit a player, particularly if there isn't much of a relationship history between player/manager. Baez' bat has certainly been a disappointment thus far. But he isn't the first and he won't be the last player to go through a 2 month slump. We hope that's all it is, anyway. Even with the slumping bat, he's made defensive plays for outs that we haven't seen out of Tiger SSs for quite a while.
  22. I'm sure he had his finger braces on.
  23. Clearly having gun toting teachers would have stopped this.
  24. Legit? I got this....
  25. I see you, Rod. I see you.
