  1. Sister Jean taught Tommy John in grammar school. She even wrapped him with a ruler over his knuckles. It would make for a lovely tug at the heartstrings type of story.
  2. I’m fine with that. Or let the football player have a retaliatory crack at the drunk.
  3. It seems like the entirety of the 2006 playoffs in Detroit was cold, cold, cold.
  4. Good grief, this team is absolute toast next season and we ain’t even done with this season yet.
  5. Fetter sees potential.
  6. I was thinking about this the other day. If it were this temperature on March 27 rather than September 27, it might be shorts and light sweatshirt weather. Rather, because we are coming off of summer rather than winter, its parka weather.
  7. How else you gonna get to CastroH?
  8. Kansas City Royals (63-91) at Detroit Tigers (61-92)
  9. I don’t know about the other single season “records”, but what intrigues me about Judge is triple crown aspect of it. And, yes, I know OBP > AVG, and RBI are more of a team accomplishment than an individual accomplishment. That’s fine. It’s still a remarkable season.
  10. I think either are capable. I just don’t know how much I’d gamble on it.
  11. Oh, this marching band doesn’t do competitions. It’s just a very well run program that a lot of kids enjoy.
  12. They’ve carved “313” into the CF lawn. Is that to honor Al Avila? 313 Tiger wins during his 7 season career as GM?
  13. Good points. When questioned about Cabrera, he didn't retort back with "You try to trade him".
  14. I'm not buying it as anything more than a mirage until we see some polo shirts.
  15. Kansas City Royals (63-90) at Detroit Tigers (60-92)
  16. Somewheres around that area code there. They hosted 7 other local marching bands this weekend for a show. Basically they all did their football halftime shows. One school pulled out a drum kit, amps, and electric guitars and did "Shakedown" by Bob Seger. It was really, really cool. And the camaraderie that they have for each other, its so cool to see. The football game last weekend, the home team seniors came over during the 1st quarter to see our band seniors (I guess its a thing where seniors can visit a bit during games?), and they said they look forward to this game every year and just happily chatted each other up for about 10 minutes.
  17. Yeah, with all of the pitchers that found themselves on the 40 out of necessity and with the guys on the 60 day IL that will need to be reinstated, plus the players hitting the rule 5 eligibility, the Tigers probably have some moves to be made.
  18. Ah, OK. A drunk idiot doing what a drunk idiot does.
  19. You do you, my man. But I feel little pity for you once you bemoan your favorite college gridiron’s efforts. Nothing personal, it’s just business. Likewise, I’m sure.
  20. I see a cheap shot shove from behind there by someone not in a football jersey, but that’s all I get out of it. What’s up?
  21. Meh….. They fell short on their own doing. But, you gotta wonder what Hinch could be thinking about it considering he interviewed for the job that ultimately went to LaRussa.
  22. And just like that, Schoop singles home the lead run.
  23. Carpenter hits the other way against the shift, gets Haase from 1B to 3B. Love it. Granted Moncada probably should have fielded it, but put it in play, make the defense work.
  24. He’s had some damn fine plays this season.
