  1. Scott Frost in a close game? Not good for Nebraska.
  2. Does this put too much emphasis on winning the tip? I wonder what the average number of points scored per OT period is? I searched basketball reference, but to no avail.
  3. I’m a bit behind on the recording. He just made the nice dive, pop up, and throw right over to Torkleson’s chest. Very fluid play out of him. Candelario’s offensive struggles have been well noted. His defense has slumped this season, too, but his bat has been criticized the most. He should be taking notice of what’s going on the past 11 innings
  4. First to 7 in OT wins? Or first with a 7 point lead in OT?
  5. Speaking of quitters... You seem to have quit the conversation about Scherzer. So have at it, champ, prove your point that Scherzer is often injured.
  6. It wasn’t mentioned in yesterday’s game thread, but what do we think went through Cabrera’s mind when CastroH pinch hit for him in a high leverage situation?
  7. I kind of wish I could get into the NHL. It would be fun to get in while the Wings are on the way up. The Yzerman angle is great fodder. Derek Lalonde had a stop with the Walleye. I may have to watch some Wings, but they'd be behind the Pistons and Walleye and there's just only so much time during the day
  8. I don't know about you guys, but I feel sore there this morning, and I only watched it on TV.
  9. Both wear socks high. Both are 6'4" and around 210. Both have jersey number 32. Both have provided spark the second that the put the old English D on. Come on, I can't be the only one that sees it, can I?
  10. Especially if the coaches are still stuck on the elevator.
  11. Kansas City Royals (53-80) at Detroit Tigers (51-81)
  12. Hope for the best for him. Its good to see people of some fame and notoriety use their place in life and platforms to be honest that just because they can hit a fastball or drain a 3 and get paid handsomely for it, it doesn’t mean that they are anyone else is immune to times of difficulty. “Hey, I’m going through this, but I’m working through it with professionals, and if anyone reading this needs help, go find it, the resources are out there.” You have to appreciate people that will open up like that.
  13. So, 6 highest ranked conference champions and the 6 highest ranked teams of the remaining 124 teams. Essentially it’s the top 10 teams and a couple others that might not be in the top 12. It stands to reason that one of the 6 highest ranked conference championships are outside of the top 12. Heck, that 1 or 2 might go up to 3, maybe 4? Is it a reracked bracket after the first round? If 12 beats 5, do they still play 4? I think they should use the NFL model of best plays worst, next best plays next worst, next next best plays next next worst, etc.
  14. What an odd sentence to read if we were 10 years ago.
  15. College Football Playoff expansion talks reignite: Friday meeting could create larger field as soon as 2024
  16. Buddha is correct. However, I understand that today's MLB bullpen usage is too much paint by numbers at times. Guys need to know their roles, which, OK, how about go stand on that dirt pile, and get the guy with the hitting twig out? Seems like a pretty simple role. What gets me is a RP gets brought in, dusts 3 batters on 10 pitches or less, and then another RP comes in the next inning because we have to have 7th inning RPs and 8th inning RPs and 9th inning RPs. Or the best RP, the closer for most teams, won't be used in the 8th inning vs the 2nd, 3rd, 4th lineup hitters because that pitcher's role is the 9th inning. Why wouldn't you match up strength vs strength? You might not get out of the 8th with a lead to use the best RP in the 9th. But unfortunately RPs are trained to be this for the most part. Come in, have one inning of all out effort, and call it a night. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like its become more about throwing hard than pitching.
  17. Indeed. That looks more accurate. Carry on.
  18. Kansas City Royals (72-58) at Detroit Tigers (50-81)
  19. Soon enough the Tiger Ls will be replaced by Lion Ls.
  20. Isn’t the NIL income? Isn’t income taxable in the good ol’ USA?
  21. It was a fine play. Only about 5,000 folks in the park, nobody in the front row. Seriously, it was a fine play, terrific effort, and ultimately the correct call was made on the overturn. I disagree with the completely out of play. We saw baseballs brought back in from the other side of the barrier often enough and they don’t them out of play. Home runs any more, foul balls before the netting. We’ve seen it plenty, and if the ball is successfully caught, the out has been registered.
  22. The 2020 Tigers hit 62 home runs.
  23. Just wait until LeBron James returns.
