Its just another example in this day & age of needing around 8 SPs (of varying degrees and minor league options) to get through the season. I think specific to Alexander, he was probably only a 5 IP strictly twice through the lineup at most type of SP. I dpn't know if the shortened spring training is a culprit here, but I think he was pretty limited as a SP to begin with. Expecting him to last long against a deep lineup like the Dodgers is just wishful thinking.

Do the robo umps come with a complimentary robo scorer? I think Candelario is pressing too much right now. Earlier in the game he sliced on to RF, but there was a pretty good play made on him. If memory serves me right, it could have scored a run (runner on 2nd?). So, it was nice to see that approach. I don't think the ground ball was too egregious (again, just going off of spur of the moment memory). He ain't hitting, and maybe he simply lost track of alignment and who is at SS while trying to make a play and have some positive impact on the game. And if they make that out, stop that run, slow down the game, they still have a chance. This play was frustrating. The Hill line drive double play with Barnhart just simply screwed unless he didn't have a lead off was frustrating. Cabrera's soft liner to 2B with runners in scoring position was frustrating. A couple of feet in other directions on these plays, and maybe its a different game.

They keep allowing the other team to score more points. But other than that...

The lack of position players on the 40 man seems perplexing to me, although it could be the injuries that have taken its toll. It just doesn't seem to mesh. Maybe it wouldn't be such a big deal if guys like Candelario and Schoop weren't swinging toothpicks. Too many variables going the wrong way for the Tigers right now. Realignment was a topic around here when we were twiddling our thumbs during the lockout. Here was my proposal. I think its time to set things up geographically. You brought up Houston and Texas who probably have a larger chunk of games outside of their time zone by more than an hour than any other teams because they are lumped in with Seattle, Los Angeles, and Oakland. By realigning geographically, you can get teams within lined up within an hour of each other inside the division. I would think that would help with viewership. Specific to Detroit sports fans, there was a time when the Red Wings were in the western conference and they had a lot of road playoff games that started at 10pm Detroit time. (The Pistons were in the western conference at one time, too, but Pistons' fans didn't have to worry about the playoffs). That's a drag to deal with, although the owners don't really care about the common fan and normal work hours, so whatever.

It was commented elsewhere (I think I heard CJ NItkowski mention it) that the suspension lasts the duration of his current contract. Assuming this is correct, is this merely coincidence?
