  1. Seems official. This one kind of came out of nowhere, eh?
  2. Well, OK, if Brieske is up, who goes down? And by down, off of the 40.
  3. The weird thing is that he's going to be playing 2B.
  4. With all of the pitching injuries and poor offense? 5-7 is probably the best that could be hoped for.
  5. I don't blame the Yankees. They're trying to win the game, not avoid 3,000. Pitch the lefty against Meadows or Cabrera? Come on, we'd be justifiably raking Hinch over the coals if he had some random lefty pitching to Judge rather than Gallo.
  6. Kyle Farnsworth Jr pitches for Weatherford?
  7. That was brought up at the rule V party. Oh, the pitching staff. I thought you meant the MTF staff.
  8. One of the things that I do not like as a parent is being forced to capture some of those moments through the camera phone rather than seeing the thing in real life action.
  9. See, 2021 Kyle Funkhouser.
  10. Still in better shape than the head trainer. I'm not the only one that thinks that's odd, am I?
  11. Meaning,.... his arm isn't sore?
  12. He should retire while he is the top of that list.
  13. If Garneau isn't catching & hitting cleanup today, then what are we even doing?
  14. There were a lot of folks in here that were ready to ante up a longer term deal for him last season. A lot of folks were schookered by his first half. It'd have been easy to reward the first half, but the Tigers were able to get a team friendly deal out of it. Additionally, he started out abysmally cold last season. If my memory is working, he signed a little later, then had issues (visa?) with getting into camp. So he had a shortened 2021 spring training, everybody had a shortened 2022 season. He may just be a player that needs a bit longer to get things going.
  15. He was warming up when the score was 1-3. The day before was a bullpen game. Had the score been more favorable at the time to warm up a reliever, perhaps it'd have been Fulmer or (gulp) Jimenez. Plus the pitching staff is one more injury from a patchwork 6 pack of Schlitz, Pabst, Hamms, Mickey's, Natural Ice, and Zima. OK, shout out to Jimenez since I have been very critical of him for a few seasons now. He's looked fine early on.
  16. I can't even do this in my dreams. That guy is something else.
  17. He wasn't good early. At one point it was 26 strikes and 24 balls thrown. Not a good thing from the ace the day after a bullpen game.
  18. I like aggressive running, but Cabrera/Santiago should have read that ball better. Stanton had a relatively easy angle to field and throw. Maybe Santiago had the stop sign up, we've seen Cabrera run through that before. The Reyes SB attempt by itself probably isn't that bad, but following up Cabrera's failed attempt for 3B probably wasn't the time. Then again, the team is struggling for runs, so ....
  19. Over 70 million people (some dead) voted for this soulless huckster.
  20. But he should be credited for doing it very well, possibly HOF worthy.
  21. I'm going to hold off on a reaction until I hear Jackass' thoughts.
  22. At least we got to see Cole flake out, and at a reasonable hour, too.
  23. Precisely. What's next, if a hitter goes down 0-2, they get to pick one quadrant of the strike zone where the rest of the pitches must go to?
  24. The modern day hitter. Gallo has only one opposing IF actually on the IF. Can't figure out a way to dribble one towards 3B for a safety. No reason to ban the shift when hitters do this to themselves.
  25. His BB/SO ratios are interesting. All of his SO>BB seasons were the 6 earliest of his career. He was about even for his career. A lot of SBs but also a lot of CSs.
