He's a free agent after this season, so, I'm not sure he really succinctly fits into the 2023 plans at this time. And an OF flanked by JD Martinez and Austin Meadows? In Commerica Park? I know the Tigers need offense, but I'm not sure punting defense at both corners would be wise.

Interesting little nugget there. Look, the fact that Avila got anything for Grossman is a minor win. Maybe the kid needs another organization to figure things out, maybe he never becomes anything anyway. Whichever way it ends up, trading away 2+ months of 2022 Grossman for a random minor leaguer is fine.

It seems odd to me that the B12 might have a sliver of a chance if they pull in the 4 four corner colleges from the P12, at least that theory exists out there. Heck, that might be their only chance at not dissolving unless they grab ND, but that seems like having only one WR, and a 5'2" one at that, available for a Hail Mary from about 80 yards out. We're not going to recognize college sports in 5 years.

So, yeah, John Law gave up 4 in an inning. The Tigers got the best start that they could have hoped for out of Hutchison. He got pulled when he should have, and the only reason to keep him for a 3rd trip at that point would have been an absolutely decimated relief corps. But the Tigers mustered only 3 runs again. 10 hits, all singles aside from 2 doubles, and 2 walks. Struck out 10 times. The strikeouts are in fashion, but the cool kids also hit for power.

Dude should be punished. Send him to a losing team.
