  1. Pineda does have his history, but he got popped with a line drive. We've seen Ps get hit with comebackers, but this injury is more on the fluky side, in my opinion.
  2. How much cap room is needed to trade for Westbrook?
  3. Are any other teams having as much SP injury issues as the Tigers are?
  4. Oh, I get it. The bats have been playing dead.
  5. Sounds like Rodriguez motioned to the dugout to be pulled from the game. That ain't good.
  6. Might as well start another 4 game winning streak.
  7. I was quite pleased with my avoiding a dead skunk in the tire tread area of the lane on the way to work today.
  8. I always feel like somebody's watching me. And I have no privacy. Whoa!
  9. Nice vantage point. That fan pointing out stuff for for Cabrera is helpful.
  10. Is that legal?
  11. The Dos Castros lineup tonight. I'm sure @chasfh will be pleased.
  12. Add in the full moon and Monday the 16th (which comes after Friday the 13th).... ugh..... You've got a lot to overcome tonight.
  13. They can shuffle Ps between Detroit & Toledo as needed if they arms get worn down. It was pondered above that Candelario and Grossman need a day off. OK, 12 position players on the roster, and Meadows has been out due to an ear infection. So, yeah, go ahead and bench both of them for a game or two. Castros and Haase covering 3B/LF. Oh, unless Barnhart needs a day off from behind the plate. The day-to-day roster management of contents of position players and pitchers gets Avila & Hinch an F so far this season. Its been absolutely asinine. The bats have been awful, the degree of which they are below career averages / reasonable 2022 expectations falls on the players themselves. But, especially the last week with Meadows unavailable due to sinus infection and ear infection, they've had one position player and a catcher on the bench. What in game moves can be made? With the schedule as its been, its managing days off and holding the two bench guys back more as injury replacement rather than making an in game move to win a ball game. And the other team knows this, so their bullpen management is more checkers than chess.
  14. Hinch is the GM of all good stuff. Avila is the GM of all bad stuff. There it is, didn't even need 2,000 words of tripe to get there.
  15. I wouldn’t shed a tear over Barnes being dumped, but that’s just my opinion.
  16. They may need to go with Brieske and Faedo because there are simply no other options. It’s the hand that they have right now. The games are scheduled. They just have to make their best effort of it.
  17. It might be Gibson's series. He was in the booth last night.
  18. Win the game at hand. The offense might put up a bagel or pretzel stick the next game and Chafin won't be needed.
  19. Get outs.
  20. Well, how do you get RPs steady work when you have a bullpen of 9? And Chafin for only 8 pitches? Come on, what are we doing?
  21. He's been a consistent 5.0+ BB9 every season. Sure, its fun that he throws hard and can strike guys out. but he allows a lot of baserunners.
  22. The once a week save opportunities are strenuous.
  23. Nope. That affects themselves in return. They lower their own individual values by doing such. In all honesty, I find the theory of the Tigers simply mailing it in right now to sabotage management to be absolutely and unequivocally asinine and probably without any shred of critical thought. But that's just my opinion.
  24. All of the expected regular Tiger position players have an OPS+ on the the season lower than that of their career (exception for Torkelson solely because he's a rookie). Well, ok, do we consider the Castros & Hill as regulars? They are OPS+ing this season above their career line. That's really all there is to this awful start. And while we are clamoring for Clemens (or even Short) to get a call up, he's only one bat which may or may not hit if promoted, and at least 2/3 of the lineup has not lived up to their expectations. I really don't think the lack of hitting can be blamed specifically on Avila. I think that falls on the hitters themselves, and maybe the coaching staff if they've revised the hitting philosophies. Now, Avila is culpable for the lack of options on the 40 and in Toledo, so he certainly has a hand in the sluggish start up.
