Even the fly outs before the bloop gaffe were kind of ugly. Damn near crouched down to a knee on one of them. This roster is awful right now. They need to dump CastroW down to Toledo and pull up Clemens (ideally) or Short and just deal with CastroH as the backup SS. Schoop kind sit behind Clemens, or Clemens can move around 2B/LF/DH. Unfortunately, there aren't other moves to make. Candelario is showing signs of coming around. The OF is going to be Meadows and Grossman in the corners with a CF of Baddoo/Hill. Baez's bat might not be what we wanted, but damnit if isn't glorious to have that glove at SS. Cabrera is going to be the DH. Torkelson just needs to grind through and find it. They could try swapping Cameron for Baddoo (please, no more CastroH in CF, no more CastroW in Detroit's OF), they could try Short instead of Clemens. But that's essentially it. The position players are simply underperforming or didn't have room to underperform to begin with. And, yeah, the CastroW in OF crap..... Look, the offense is struggling, the pitching is holding it together and at least giving the team a shot. Let's not add another obstacle to a win by putting a horsebleep glove out there if it can be avoided.

Those are just counting stats. I need something more substantial like WAR.

I'm pro life. But I also acknowledge that issues like rape/incest/health of mother & child don't fit so nicely into that view. And I cannot quite figure out how this seems to be a one size fits all for some folks. You know, you look at the generalities of the two major parties in the country in their general ideologies. One side is firmly against abortions but damn straight you better be able to holster a killing toy on your person if you so choose. The other side just flips on both, and then you've got the irony of folks that were given the chance of life promoting ending life before the fetus gets a shot at it (exceptions noted above). I have a really hard time squaring this away.

I've been to the baseball and rock & roll hall of fames. Personally, I look at both as more of a museum rather than a career defining achievement. Of course there are enshrined members as part of the museum, but I guess I just find that aspect to be more subjective and not quite as interesting to me. Heck, what defines rock & roll to begin with? Why are Eminem and Dolly Parton being inducted into a Rock & Roll hall of fame when you wouldn't find their albums in the rock & roll section of a music shop? I visited the baseball hall and was able to see a display of Whitaker & Trammell memorabilia. Jerseys, hats, gloves, cleats, photos. It was great, it made me happy to see. This was way before Trammell's induction as a player and, in my opinion, they really should have been inducted as a duo. But the powers that be don't agree with me on that. C'est la vie, I can't help it that they're wrong. (And to be honest, the room with all of the baseball plaques was quite boring compared to all of the other displays on hand anyway.)

OK, no overall roster limit, but an active roster limit of 28 for games at AAA & AA. I guess I didn't realize that had changed last season.

I don't want to blame only Soto for the loss. Its tough for pitchers to have margin for error of about a run given the ineptitude of the offense. But its past time to realize that Soto isn't a high leverage pitcher.

I like looking at baseball reference’s end of year projected records. Over the course of their 1,000 computer simulations, the Reds aren’t projected to be the worst team in baseball. Heck, the Pirates are 3 games below them in the division according to their guessing games.

I don't know how players from different eras can be reasonably compared to each other. So much of the game has evolved over time. What hasn't changed? Free throws have kind of remained the same, but that's about it.

I was looking at the roster on MILB, and even with the 7 day ILs taken into account, the Mud Hens appear to have 17 Ps, 4 Cs, 6 IFs, and 4 OFs. Seems a bit over the limits? Must be some headshots need to be taken down off of the site?

I don't know that this is completely true. The "anti Trump" candidate, Matt Dolan, followed a lot of Trump's platform, but wouldn't fall in line with the whole stolen election falsehood. The complete Trump lapdogs (JD Vance, Josh Mandel, Mike Gibbons, Jane Timken) garnered around over 70% of the R vote. I highly doubt Ryan can win easily barring some unforeseen event such as Vance reversing course and again going against Trump which could cause chaos among the TRs.
