  1. They saw the discussion earlier today about possible schedule complications if they didn’t start the season on time and decided it was time to get BIZZY.
  2. Ugh..... I hear this word about a dozen times a day from my boss. Please. Stop.
  3. Agree, I think that's here to stay.
  4. I am intrigued to see how this robo ump stuff will work. It looks like they are still going with weeklong series, too. https://img.mlbstatic.com/milb-images/image/upload/milb/v5t8krfj3b3ji5fc44vy.pdf
  5. It would seem to me that just adding the beginning two weeks to the back end is the easiest way to do it. When you get into trying to condense two weeks into one or three into two.... I doubt its as easy as looking at the Tigers' schedule and assuming that, well, some doubleheaders here, and take way an off day there. But what about the Red Sox, Jerk Sox, Royals' schedules and their days off? Keep in mind, there is the rule of no more than 20 consecutive game days (or thereabouts) without an off day. Scheduling with a the current alignment has to be a nightmare. I agree with you that they wouldn't want to reduce to 154 if it isn't necessary, but this is MLB we're talking about. Sometimes logic (assuming we are using any to begin with) need not apply.
  6. He's a below average shooter outside of 3 feet.
  7. I hate snow.
  8. It'll be interesting to see what schedule alterations might be needed for Detroit, if it comes to that. They open in Seattle and Oakland, so, if they need to reschedule, that's going to be tough to accomplish if they start X weeks late and tack on less than X weeks on the end yet hope to maintain 162 games.
  9. Isn't someone going to tell Rogers to shut up and dribble?
  10. Excuse me, why do we want the Pistons to trade for a nonshot making diva that has sat out this season?
  11. A back to back with Denver. This concludes the trips to the west coast.
  12. Detroit Pistons (11-34) vs Denver Nuggets (23-21)
  13. I didn’t notice this during the game, but Utah made a dozen more free throws than Detroit attempted. Detroit never went to the line in the 4th, whereas Utah was 9 of 11. Now granted, some of those 11 were late and must foul situations. But 0 attempts in a quarter?
  14. THAT'S IT!!! CMRivdogs wins the weekend. You get the whole podium to yourself. The rest of us morans are playing for participation ribbons.
  15. I realize Mitchell was out, but I can appreciate the Pistons keeping this competitive throughout the game. Its not like the difference was only a couple of baskets one way or the other. Both teams had a run here and a run there. But Detroit didn't give up that unanswered 20-3 type of several minutes that keeps a deficit in double digits for the duration. Improvement from the kids, some cohesive basketball, and pile up the Ls to get another cornerstone to build upon. That should be the priority this season.
  16. I grew up in a Polish ethnic neighborhood, survived 13 years of Catholic school beatdown, most of which was attached to a Catholic church originally built around the turn of the 20th century specifically for the Polish speaking community, and still offering for quite a long time a weekly Polish speaking mass, which I sometimes had to altar serve at. I had in my possession at the time of Bless You Boys a larger sized lapel button. And I have no idea how I acquired it, I don't think it was something that I wore (although there was a time those things would be worn on a coat). But the picture on it was Pope John Paul II (he from Poland, which of course was notable given my environment) wearing a Tiger hat (the home one) atop his head and in a papal type pose, with his hand extended and hand open as if offering a blessing. And the old English script on the button read "Bless You Boys". I wish I still had that, but its long gone.
  17. /s. But, come on, it wasn't that long ago that there was a bloc around these parts that were quite coo coo ca choo for Kreidler's future.
  18. Has Jeter officially been canonized for sainthood yet?
  19. Oh, they sign a SS and now Kreidler is chopped liver?
  20. Every morning it opens by default on the work computer. And one of the first things that I do is close that window.
  21. This game starts at 9pm EST. I was either looking at the Atlantic time zone, or I’m just an idiot. Probably more of the latter than the former.
  22. For tonight at Jazz? Good catch.
  23. Zoom call? That's so 2020....
  24. How do we know they ain't textin'?
